Readers will remember that Microsoft announced EA Play would be coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers when that new hardware is released. In other words, if you are having a Series X or S Xbox console and subscribe to the Ultimate tier of Game Pass, you’ll be able to play Jedi: Fallen Order on your machine on Day One. Jedi: Fallen Order was released in November 2019 and has been something of a smash hit for Electronic Arts. At the time, we said that the game fell “just short of greatness.” The publishing giant expected the game to sell between six and eight million copies by the end of March 2020, but managed to shift eight million units by the end of December. In August, EA rebranded its Access and Origin Access subscription services to EA Play. This was shortly before the publisher started bringing some of its games – and EA Play – to Valve’s Steam platform.
