Resident Evil RE: Verse, the multiplayer shooter announced alongside Resident Evil Village, was positioned as a free pack-in, available to all owners of the game. Given its similarities to Resident Evil Resistance, the other free multiplayer experiment that shipped with Resident Evil 3, we all assumed RE: Verse will be available at Village’s launch. Not the case, apparently, as fans were surprised to learn this week. As spotted by Resetera, Capcom sent Resident Evil Ambassadors a marketing email about the game, explaining that the game is going to be available in the summer. Indeed, RE: Verse’s official website does note that it’ll arrive sometime this summer. Capcom has been testing the multiplayer shooter internally and through public and invite-only betas, the most recent of which took place last week. By all accounts, everyone was ready to play it at Village’s launch next week. Nevertheless, we’ll all have to wait until some point this summer to get our hands on it. Resident Evil Village, on the other hand, is out May 7 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia.
