Destiny 2: Beyond Light’s new Stasis subclass has potentially thrown the launch of the new raid into doubt. For now, the community managers on the game say things will proceed as normal. The World’s First raid races are about as close as Destiny gets to esport events. These races, which pit teams against each other to both solve and execute a raid first, get huge streaming viewership. It’s a truly exciting time of year for Destiny fans as they cheer on their favorite content creators....

People Can Fly is probably best known as the studio behind Bulletstorm, as well as its work with Epic Games on Gears of War: Judgement and the early days of Fortnite: Save the World. It’s pretty funny just how close Outrider’s core shooting is to Gears of War, with a similar intensity to its over-the-’roided-shoulder perspective and characters who clomp meatily between cover, firing chunky bursts from over-engineered weaponry....

Plenty of Overwatch 2 information was dropped yesterday after the BlizzConline 2021 opening ceremony in a separate segment. In it, the Overwatch 2 team provides a first look at some new locations players will travel to in the upcoming sequel, including Rome, which is the setting for a map in the new Push mode, and the New York City of Overwatch’s future Earth. You are also given a look at the evolving new looks for heroes from the original Overwatch, including McCree, Pharah, Reaper, and Widowmaker....

Announced back in March, the new, revamped PlayStation Plus launches next month, June 22 (for Europe, anyway). Pokémon’s art style has changed a lot over the years, but obviously plenty of us still have a fondness for the original 2D art from character designer Ken Sugimori. His art style around the time of the original Pokémon games was incredibly distinctive, opting for very angular looks, and played with light in creative ways through a watercolour look. And now a fan has translated that 2D style into a 3D one, giving us a look into an alternate reality....

“Apparently the name Ho-Oh is inappropriate,” they wrote. It appears as if nicknaming your Ho-Oh locks you out of ever reversing that decision - at least via the actual nickname interface (although Redditor glumada points out that “Hoe-Oh” isn’t censored, which gives you an alternative way out if you’re willing to name your Legendary Pokemon after a gardening tool). It seems that this isn’t the first time Niantic has accidentally censored official Pokemon names....

After some speculation that the Prince of Persia remake had been outright cancelled, Ubisoft has now confirmed to PC Gamer that it is still in development, but is no longer aiming for a FY23 release. The remake has seen quite a troubled development, first revealed in September of 2020 with a January 2021 release date, then delayed to March, then delayed without a target release date, followed by a confirmation that it would be released in 2022....

After Canadian, French and American retailers have all leaked Ubisoft announcements, it is now time for Guatemalan retailers to get in on the action. Max, a retailer in Guatemala, has posted two curious listings for Prince of Persia Remake for PS4 and Switch. The listings, which had the remake pegged for a November release, have since been removed, but they were originally spotted by Ken Xyro on Twitter, who grabbed a couple of screenshots before they were gone....

The numbers come from Sony’s full-year financial results, in which it admitted sales of PS4 hardware and sales were down due to the slowing of the consoles lifecycle. It’s next home console, the PlayStation 5, is on track to launch this holiday 2020, and Sony has said there is no significant delay to game productions from first-party studios or its partners. Sony’s game division was a significant highlight for the wider business, as its electronics, music and pictures divisions all took a hit due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis....

According to analyst Daniel Ahmad at Niko Partners, contents of the digital and standard edition of PS5 will contain the same items. The information comes from a distributor in Hong Kong, so the contents may be region-specific. Inside the box, you will find the DualSense controller, a base, HDMI Cable, power cord, a USB cable, and more. The list also notes the 825GB SSD, and Astro’s Playroom pre-installed on the system....

The futuristic design is made up of a white outer casing with black innards, and illuminated by blue light at the top - which you can see for yourself in the embedded images: We’d already seen the PS5’s controller - the Dualsense - and the main box continues the same design aesthetic. Today, this PS5 feature, apparently called PlayStation 5 Activities, was detailed a bit more in a GameRactor Spain article. The article featured a talk with WCR 9 director Alan Jarniou and product manager Sebastien Waxin (via Wccftech, Gematsu). According to the now-removed article, the PlayStation 5 Activities system will “propose instant deeplink links from the start menu to directly access races or parts of the game.” Basically, the feature makes it possible to launch into specific parts of the game from the PS5 OS without having to launch the game first....

According to a Bloomberg report, Sony’s long-awaited answer to PS5’s expandable storage problem will arrive sometime this summer. Unlike Xbox, where Microsoft launched proprietary expandable SSD storage on day one, Sony opted for a more open approach whereby PS5 owners could instead go with an off-the-shelf M.2 NVMe SSD. Every PS5 console has an empty M.2 expansion slot where said drive could sit. The only problem is: Sony has yet to validate any of the models in the market or tell users which to get/would work....

Midwinter Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer for free-to-play strategic shooter Scavengers. You can now also register for the upcoming technical playtest weekend. If you participate in the playtest weekend, you will get a first look at new character designs, as well as newly revealed gameplay features that include large-scale PvEvP battles. These battles feature hundreds of advanced AI enemies and creatures across an expanded 9km2 map. The playtest will take place on the weekend of September 18-20 and you can register here....
