A narrative trailer for Mafia Definite Edition was shown during gamescom Opening Night Live, and catches you up on the game’s story. We recently previewed the game, which Alex feels is shaping up to be something pretty special. Mafia: Definitive Edition was originally scheduled for an August 28 release date, but was delayed due to the pandemic. The Mafia 1 remake is now set to release on September 25. It’s coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One....

With Mario Golf: Super Rush, the Mario Golf series returns to home consoles for the first time since 2003 and features a story mode, various courses, and multiplayer modes. In it, you will golf with familiar Mushroom Kingdom characters each with their own perks, allocate earned XP to stats, and you can even swing the Joy-Con controller like a real club if you wish. With multiplayer, up to four players can join in via both local and online multiplayer....

The DLC will come in what’s called the Booster Course Pass which contains 48 remastered courses from across the Mario Kart series. Eight courses will be released at a time over six waves by the end of 2023, which can all be played locally or online. You can expect courses such as Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain and Tour Tokyo Blur to be be included in the first wave which drops on March 18....

In it, you get to see plenty of Marvel’s Avengers gameplay alongside the developers discussing the upcoming Hawkeye DLC. Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect arrives on March 18 and will be free to owners of the core game on all platforms. In addition to a new playable character, the DLC features the next chapter in the game’s ongoing Avengers Initiative story and also introduces a new villain: Maestro. It arrives the same day as the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions....

The news came via a tweet from the game’s official Twitter account, which notes that Hero’s Catalysts and Fragment Extractors will no longer be purchasable, and will remain earnable in-game only. When Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix offered the option to purchase Hero’s Catalysts and Fragment Extractors with real money back in October, players were upset. This is because many viewed the consumable DLC, which increased the amount of currency and experience earned, as a pay-to-win scheme....

Speaking with CNBC (thanks, VGC), Microsoft president Brad Smith said the company wants to see the culture evolve at Activision Blizzard, and will “see how people perform” between now and when the deal to acquire the firm closes. “I think if there’s one thing that we’ve learned about addressing issues like sexual harassment or almost any issue of culture for people, it really requires a combination of commitment and humility,” Smith said....

Both versions of the enemy are tough, whatever your level of difficulty setting. The Redstone Golem is easier, yes - but they appear much more frequently throughout the game. The Redstone Monstrosity almost feels a little more manageable because it’s a one-off fight. The main strategies are to use all of the tools you have at your disposal while pressing what small advantages you have to brute force your way through their health bar....

Since launch, avid Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players have been complaining about the limited number of custom classes available in multiplayer. Previous Call of Duty games allowed players to unlock several new slots by Prestiging. Now that the Prestige system is gone, everyone is stuck with the same five slots the game launched with. Activision has yet to even offer to sell more custom slots to players, as we’ve seen in other Call of Duty games....

The completely free update will be released on October 25 and will include the Ottoman and Malian civilizations. You will be able to lead the mighty Malians of West Africa, one of the richest trading nations of all time, as you focus on strong economic prowess in mining and investing in gold. Alternatively, you can deploy the Ottomans, one of the longest-lasting empires in history, and its well-trained military. The civilization will also use the largest gunpowder siege weapon available, the Great Bombard....

The show is set to air on various Japanese television stations from 10am EST on January 7, with those outside of Japan able to watch via Hulu, Bandai, or Prime Video. If you feel that you can’t wait that long and want even more information, a live-stream is scheduled for tomorrow, 6AM EST on December 28, where more details of the anime will be revealed ahead of its release. The anime adaptation will have some differences from its source material....

This update comes with lead designer Tom Cannon providing much needed info as we’ve come to expect, as well as Shaun “unconkable” Rivera. Rivera joined the team earlier this year, having transitioned from the Legends of Runeterra team. He’s also a big name in the USA fighting game scene, notably being an excellent Tekken player back in his day. The Winter Convergence event brings with it new items, a new gift-giving emote, winter token earned from special events that can be traded for special Winter Convergence items, and new villages specially made to hand out the new quests. New World is available now for PC. The Winter Convergence event is ongoing and will end January 11, 2022.

If you’re part of the venn diagram of fans that sits in between Stardew Valley and Final Fantasy, Harvestella will likely be for you. And thanks to Nintendo, we’ve been given a nice long look at the game. Unsurprisingly, the game starts with the player character experiencing a bout of amnesia, as any good game does, throwing you into a world where the seasons are dictated by four huge crystals, which sounds like the usual kind of Final Fantasy affair....

As you’d expect with most system updates these days, the latest firmware patch for the hybrid/home console offers some system stability improvements, but it also introduces a sorely-needed improvement to the system’s data management suite, too. The new firmware allows you to easily delete update data from software if there isn’t enough room to download and install other data you’re eager to play. This means, essentially, you can remove old patches if you want to download a new patch, making it easier to manage data on the console....

The game was announced for the console today during the first Nintendo Direct of the year.
