Its arrival means that even a PC player can now join players on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch – if they so desired....

Team shooter Overwatch is going to be free to play until the start of next year. Blizzard has said that people can check out the game free of charge on PC until January 4. This isn’t some limited trial, either; players can experience the full game, including all 32 heroes and 28 maps. Any progress that they make during this time will be carried on to the full game so long as they actually go on and buy it....

Those who complete this Season’s Special Research story will gain access to an event at the end of which may have something to do with Hoopa....

Nintendo has released an update for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, and you will want to apply it to your game in order to fix a game-breaking bug. According to the update notes (via Perfectly Nintendo), a glitch occurs in dungeons with a fixed party when the player and their partner are defeated in the dungeon and you remove the third Pokemon from your team. Nintendo said to avoid the issue, don’t remove the third party member, however, if you did and can no longer play, the update will fix it so you can continue to play....

CCP’s parent company, Pearl Abyss, announced the cancelation of Project Nova in its most recent financial release, according to Massively. According to the company, the gameplay experience presented at EVE Vegas 2018 would not have “achieved our ambitious goals for this concept.” Instead, it plans to continue to “develop our sci-fi multiplayer shooter game concept,” but will move away from what was previously known as Project Nova. The game’s development team in Iceland has also been moved to other projects....

According to a source familiar with Sony’s plans, the PS3, PS Vita, and PlayStation Portable’s digital storefronts will be closed down in July, meaning players will be unable to purchase digital content on those platforms any longer. As per a report published by The Gamer, the PSP and PS3 stores will be closed on July 2, with the PS Vita store will stay open until August 27. “After those dates, you will no longer be able to purchase digital copies of games or DLC for any of the Sony consoles mentioned above,” says The Gamer....

You might be asking “what’s a game voucher?”, and no one would blame you for that. Last year, Nintendo ran a limited-time offer where Nintendo Switch Online users could buy two game vouchers for $99.99. Each voucher could be redeemed for select digital Nintendo Switch titles, effectively earning you $10 off the game. The original list included a range of first-party Nintendo titles as well as a few select third-party titles, but the vouchers could also be used on some pre-orders....

Rainbow Six Extraction, previously known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, and then Rainbow Six Parasite for a time, has been properly revealed earlier at Ubisoft’s Forward E3 2021 event. Extraction is a co-op tactical shooter set in the Rainbow Six universe, and starring many of the same Siege operators that should be familiar to players. Rather than going up against each other, Extraction has operators uniting against an alien parasite. The game is a 1-to-3 player game that will see you take on an ‘unprecedented alien threat’ with a ‘whole new arsenal’ that you can upgrade as you play....

Ubisoft promised that the multiplayer shooter will not only play on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on day one, it will also take advantage of their advanced hardware in a number of ways. As part of the Capcom TGS Live 2020 stream, Hiroyuki Kobayashi – executive producer on the project – presented our first look at the upcoming show. The CGI series will be based on the horror franchise and will follow the adventures of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they explore a big, dark mansion. So far, then, it’s very in keeping with the games. The reveal comes after the project was leaked early by Netflix Portugal....

The reported remake is being developed by M-Two, an Osaka-based studio founded by Tatsuya Minami, the former head of PlatinumGames. The team has been working on the project since 2018 - although like Resident Evil 3 Remake, it is likely other teams under Capcom’s umbrella will lend support. Resident Evil 4’s original game director Shinji Mikami declined to lead the remake himself, but has given it his blessing and has offered some advice on the direction of the upcoming release....
