Here’s what Cyberpunk 2077’s Johnny Silverhand could have looked like if Keanu Reeves hadn’t taken the role. As spotted by AltChar, CD Projekt RED’s senior concept artist and coordinator Lea Leonowicz posted a bunch of concept drawings to ArtStation showing various ideas for what the rockerboy-slash-anti-corporate freedom fighter might have looked like. There are a few different takes on the character, with different 1980s rock fashion vibes. Silverhand’s, erm, silver arm is also his right in a few drawings, rather than the final version whose left arm has been replaced....

After four hours hands-on, the game mechanics and systems of Cyberpunk 2077 very much speak for themselves. One thing that’s harder to get to grips with in such a play session is the story: after experiencing those four hours, I hadn’t even really broken out of the prologue. CD Projekt RED makes huge games, of course. The Witcher 3 is absolutely gigantic, and Cyberpunk 2077 appears to be even bigger....

According to the studio, one of the issues being looked into is the disc version not launching on PS4 after applying the patch. On PC, it’s being reported that the game is crashing due to audio software-related issues. Because the crash is most likely caused by an audio software conflict, CDP has identified this issue with audio drivers such as A-Volute, Nahimic, or Sonic Studio. It is currently investigating the issue....

During today’s Night City Wire livestream, CD Projekt Red showed off new footage of Cyberpunk 2077. In the video, you are given a look at the world, characters, story, and action taking place in Night City. It also shows the beginnings of the mercenary career of V, the cyber-enhanced outlaw you will be playing come November. Releasing on November 19, you will be able to pick up the game on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One....

Kojima Productions has announced today that Death Stranding will now arrive July 14 on PC, a six-week delay from its previously announced June 2 release date. Entropic Shards look like little Darkness Pyramids and can be found in various locations. You’ll probably have noticed they are immune to damage unless you’ve managed to progress through the main campaign and acquired Salvation’s Grip. According to the latest leaks, donating Polarized Fractaline to the Empyrean Foundation will count towards restoring the Lighthouse on Mercury, where the top Trials of Osiris players got to duel it out. It also looks like Season 10 will be called Season of the Worthy, which links in nicely with the idea that the worthy - the strongest PvP Guardians - might once again get to visit the Lighthouse....

If the return of Trials wasn’t enough PvP action for you, you have until next Tuesday to jump back into Iron Banner. At the end of this quest, you’ll finally be able to get your hands on the long-awaited Point of the Stag Bow. It comes with a Precision Frame with a longer draw time, which increases the damage dealt. It’s also a Vorpal Weapon, which does more damage to bosses, vehicles and Guardians who are using their Super....

This year, you can also pick up the Jurassic Green Pulse Rifle and an Exotic Sparrow. You will also be helping fill the Book of the Forgotten which features memorable characters and heroic deeds. Capcom is kicking off the new console generation with Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition. This edition comes with new features and game modes in addition to the “heavily requested” arrival of Vergil as a playable character. The virtual reality version of 2004’s Doom 3 is making its debut in PlayStation VR. In a post on PlayStation Blog, Bethesda wrote that this version of the game would be coming to PSVR on March 29. This includes Doom 3 and its two expansion packs, Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Mission. Doom 3: VR Edition comes to PlayStation VR with some new features, such as the ability to be able to peer around corners, use motion controls to angle shots with flashlight-mounted weapons, as well as being able to do a 180-degree quick-turn....

The most recent experiment, though, lands John Romero’s brutal shooter on a pregnancy test. The programmer behind this experimental project, Foone, is funded by a Patreon and has been publishing their exploits to Twitter. Recent videos show off the classic game running on a standard home pregnancy test, controlled via an external keyboard. The game runs in a tiny 128x32 pixel display and if you squint, you can just about make out what’s going on in the little monitor....

News of the standalone nature of the Doom Eternal DLC was shared with PCgamesN. Speaking with the site, the game’s executive producer Marty Stratton said the team at id Software wanted the DLC to “reach as many people as possible.” And it will be a rather large DLC, according to game director Hugo Martin. “Most people would associate DLC with being of smaller scope – it’s kind of like the made for TV version of the movie, and the movie was the main game,” Hugo said....
