Following a heartfelt thanks to its fans after the launch of the Mistlands update, Iron Gate jumps straight into what’s next for the game. The Ashlands biome is currently in pre-production, and “will be quite different from what we’re all used to, given that the Ashlands is a large chunk of land at the far south of the map.” Iron Gate then goes on to detail how secretive it was regarding previous update, Mistlands, and says that it wishes to be more transparent with the next update....

To make this month’s set of new titles even more attractive, Microsoft has also made some major Cloud Gaming announcements. On Monday, the company revealed that over 150 games will be available via the service from day one. As such, there’s a lot of Games Pass and Cloud Gaming crossover. With Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown on PS4, you can expect updated graphics built using Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Dragon Engine. Originally released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2007, you can expect the same gameplay and combat, but there will be new background music for stages, new lighting and shaders, a new opening cinematic, and a new user interface (thanks, IGN). It also features the ability to spectate online matches in real-time and to build robin-robin-style online tournaments....

Much like the original, there are a bunch of Warcraft 3: Reforged cheats that will help you become unstoppable in no time. Unfortunately, there’s a caveat; you can only use the cheat codes in single-player mode, so there’s no cheating in multiplayer mode. Warhaven looks to be mainly taking after For Honor, albeit with a larger number of players, more objectives, and some fantastical elements alongside the standard melee combat. The game is centred around objective modes where four squads of four players attempt to clash with the enemy team using various battlefield weaponry, push into territory, and get into an ol’ school scuffle. There are six classes to choose from, each offering unique combat advantages and rocking a different visual style....

Nintendo is hosting a Switch Indie World livestream today at 10am PT, 1pm ET, 5pm UK. The 20-minute show will focus on indie games coming soon to Switch. Wave Break, the new game from Funktronic Labs, is finally coming to platforms other than Stadia. Though the studio is mostly known for its VR games, Wave Break is not a VR project, and it’s arriving this summer on PC and Switch. Wave Break is sort of a skateboarding game where you grind and kickflip, except you’re skating boats on the open (and sometimes closed) seas. Funktronic calls it “skateboating”, which is pretty on point....

According to a new Geeks Worldwide report, the Warner Bros. Montreal Batman game the studio keeps teasing, is meant to be a soft reboot of the Arkham series. As earlier reports have indicated, the developer initially started out with a Damian Wayne Arkham game, which has since been cancelled. The new game is, as many suspected, connected to The Court of Owls. More interestingly, the report says the game will introduce co-op, and feature a “playable Batfamily....

Chucklefish has re-revealed its magical school sim, Witchbrook, showing off its new isometric pixel art style. The in-development game is a magical school and town life simulator where players will “forge their own identity” as a witch-in-training on the road to graduation. In the game, you will build relationships with the townspeople and other students while developing your magical abilities by attending classes and completing assignments. Other activities include fishing, growing magical crops and foraging for mushrooms....

World of Warcraft Shadowlands developer, Blizzard, announced in a post on its site that the game’s next DLC expansion will be missing its planned release date as the studio makes time for ‘additional polish’. “Over the past several months of testing, we’ve made significant progress iterating on and polishing the core features and gameplay of Shadowlands. We’re at a point where the zones, the campaign, the level-up questing experience, and the story we have to tell are essentially ready to share,” says executive producer John Hight....

The new tutorials have been “designed to inspire the next generation of games creators, and to give them an insight into game design and development,” according to Microsoft. The workshops, which run throughout September, will be hosted by East London Arts and Music (ELAM) and Playground Games and have been put together by Microsoft in order to “inspire, serve and help upskill customers, small businesses and communities through learning and technology”....

Ubisoft’s cockney hacker sandbox Watch Dogs Legion is $30 off, while the Resident Evil 3 remake is cheaper by almost $40.
