Before launch, Rockstar even made sure everyone knew how Red Dead Redemption 2’s horse balls shrink in the cold. It’s that signature attention to detail inherent to the studio’s games. Remember how you could ignite leaking petrol in GTA 5? It’s the horse bollock version of that, basically. It’s the kind of excess that’s only possible when you have the heft of a triple-A studio like Rockstar. It’s a big old flex, like when the balls involuntarily shrink....

Visual comedy gags are a cruel mistress, and today her talons are pointed directly at Red Dead Online - a game that, as you’ll know if you’re a feral RDO nerd like myself, isn’t particularly kind either. One of the biggest pains of Red Dead Onine is how often you’d find yourself kicked from the game without warning. Naturally, someone has recreated that very experience in Dreams. PlayStation user RikisCafe created this Red Dead re-imagining, the player will boot up the game and take control of a cowboy who is able to walk forward for a couple of seconds before being disconnected....

The save editor was created by Xeeynamo, and while it is limited, it will allow you to manage your Final Fantasy 7 Remake inventory, materia, and character levels, according to SP1st, and allow Red XIII to be fully playable for a limited time. As the site notes, you can only use the character for a short time due to the party resetting after major cutscenes. But at least you can play as the Red XIII for short bursts....

Finish games firm Remedy wants to try and address some of the issues that face co-op games with its upcoming Vanguard. That’s according to the company’s CEO, Tero Virtala, who told GamesIndustry.biz that one of the problems facing co-op titles is making sure that games last long enough. Though Remedy is best known for its narrative-driven single-player games like Max Payne and Control, one of the studio’s upcoming releases is Vanguard, a free-to-play co-op title....

While Capcom is getting ready to release Resident Evil 3, the developer has reportedly been working on the next mainline Resident Evil game behind-the-scenes. According to noted leaker Dusk Golem, the project has been in development for over three years, and is planned for release in 2021. In fact, Capcom is seemingly gearing up to officially announce it soon. As for what it is, Dusk Golem says it’ll be “by far the biggest departure the series has ever taken,” to the point that they anticipate the shift to upset existing fans....

Capcom has published a tweet that reveals a new Direct-style video will be released on Thursday, January 21, that will show off the first-ever gameplay of the incoming Resident Evil title. If you’re eager to learn more about what the publisher has planned for the iconic horror series in the coming months and years, you’ll be pleased to know that “lots more Resident Evil news” is also on the cards....

Check out the new Resident Evil Village trailer, below. As previously revealed, the story takes place after the events of Resident Evil 7, with Ethan and his wife, Mia, somehow in trouble again. The motivation for their arrival at this snow-covered village has something to do with Chris Redfield. Capcom says Village will expose players to the “fear of the unknown,” and it looks like the village hides a dark secret....

According to the presentation (slide 20), the game has sold 6.1 million units since its May 2021 release. Resident Evil Village shipped over 3 million units in its first four days of release, becoming the third-fastest-selling title in the series, tied with 2019’s Resident Evil 2. By July, the game had moved 4.5 million units, and hit 5 million units the following October. The game also had the best Steam launch for a Resident Evil game....
