Over the past several months, we’ve heard reports that Ragnarok has been delayed to 2023, and counter-reports saying that it has not, and will in fact be out this November. There’s certainly, however, evidence to suggest an imminent release, such as the recent Korean Board rating. Barlog recently returned to Twitter, and has unsurprsingly been bombarded with questions about when we’ll be seeing the game next, whether or not it has been pushed back, and some good ol’ unhinged internet abuse....

Sony Santa Monica has finally confirmed that New Game Plus will be added to God of War Ragnarok. Unfortunately, you’re not going to be able to replay the adventure in NG+ over Christmas, but you also won’t have too long to wait either. Announced via a tweet, Sony Santa Monica says, “We know many of you have been asking, so we’re happy to confirm that New Game Plus will be coming to God of War Ragnarok in Spring 2023!...

Alongside the launch trailer for Godfall, a developer Q&A was released providing details on end-game content, and more. In the video, you will get a look at gameplay and the Seventh Sanctum which acts as a hub, you will see inspectable Valorplates, a training room, one of the first looks at the UI, the holomap, and missions for each section of the map....

While Google Stadia’s gaming streaming tech works, it did not expand the game’s audience as some had hoped, that’s according Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick’s assessment. The veteran games executive spoke at the Bernstein Annual Strategic Decisions Conference (via Gamespot) about the potential for game streaming, and its current realities. More specifically, Zelnick and co did not expect Stadia to have as little of an impact as it did. “The launch of Stadia has been slow,” said Zelnick....

According to a new pamphlet, GT7 will feature over 90 racing tracks, boasts 420 cars to race in and claims that all tracks have “realistic weather and scenery”. Translated by user PettyWingman on fan forum GT Planet, the free booklet handed out by Japanese shop Yodobashi Camera states that players can buy, sell and tune cars, and take advantage of a massive garage, allowing you to store a jaw-dropping 1000 vehicles....

While the Rockstar launcher was eventually brought back online, the PC version of the game remains unavailable for purchase on Rockstar’s website, and those who already own it are unable to play it. And it is unknown as of press time when the game will be brought back online. According to Rockstar, the game was pulled due to some files “unintentionally” included with the PC version. The studio is working to have them removed, but what these files are, the studio didn’t state....

After the developer posted a note to Twitter, explaining online lobbies and server stability need work – hence the delay – the studio has now noted that the game may get another beta ahead of launch to check everything is working as it should do. During the New Game+ Expo, Arc System Works noted that another beta test is being considered with improvements in line with what the developer would want from the final code (thanks, AnimeFGCNews)....

Halo 3 will arrive as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on July 14 via Steam and the Microsoft Store. Those with Xbox Game Pass for PC will also be able to add the game to their collection. The game’s first flight test occurred during the first half of June. It continues the story arc begun in Halo: Combat Evolved and continued in Halo 2, and centers on the continued fight between the Covenant, the Flood, and the entire Human race....

As always after the madness of E3, I’ve taken some time over the last few days to reflect on what I saw this E3 - and the more I think about the show, the more I’m left absolutely desperate to get my hands on one particular game - the Halo Infinite multiplayer. I, like many, was a Halo multiplayer obsessive in the 2000s. I remember hooking my Xbox up to some experimental LAN-to-Internet program in order to play the original multiplayer online....

Developer Cryptic Studios has explained a bit more about how difficulty works in the upcoming action RPG Magic: Legends. In a blog post and video on YouTube, design lead Adam Hetenyi said that the title has four levels of challenge so that it is as difficult or straightforward as players want it to be. By default, Magic: Legends starts on the Normal setting, while Hard is unlocked by completing the game’s tutorial....

And, as it turns out, the game has just got quite a lot to say more generally. The core conceit of the game is that down-and-out New Yorker, Frey Holland, gets transported to an otherworld – to the magical land of Athia – where a sentient Cuff binds itself to her wrist and guides her through this peculiar fantasy. Thing is, Cuff won’t shut the hell up. Similarly to High on Life’s mouthy guns in 2022, cuff seems to think that we want incessant feedback on everything we do....

Sony has released what is presumably the final trailer for the Monster Hunter movie. The promo went live today, December 18, which is the same day that the film is being released in the United States. As is to be expected, the trailer features Milla Jovovich’s Captain Artemis teaming up with Hunter – played by Tony Jaa – to beat the shit out of some pretty huge creatures. Like. Dragons and that....

During a virtual panel at BYCC, Paul W.S. Anderson shared a teaser of one of the most iconic monsters from the game series and spoke about the challenge of migrating the creatures from the game series to the big screen. “We wanted to put these creatures on the screen as accurately as possible,” Anderson explained in the panel. According to the developer, the Hitman series will be streamlined and henceforth be known as Hitman World of Assassination. The change will affect how both existing and new Hitman players access, experience, and purchase the Hitman trilogy. As of January 26, Hitman 3 will change to Hitman World of Assassination and include Hitman and Hitman 2 through the existing Access Pass system. Current Hitman 3 owners will get a free upgrade to World of Assassination on all platforms....

Guerrilla Games has just rolled out a new update for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, one week after the game’s release. The PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn has, to say the very least, been disappointing. From inexplicable performance problems on powerful systems, to weird bugs and omissions, the port has been frustrating many of those who chose to jump in at launch. Guerrilla Games has since confirmed it is aware of all reports, and today’s patch is the first of many....

So, it gives me great pleasure to report that Hot Wheels Unleashed, from Milestone, a game developer known these days for sim racers but who originally cut its teeth on a string of tremendous arcade racers, nails the powerslide. Getting it right in Hot Wheels Unleashed, watching your chosen mini car skid perpendicular to the corner’s apex before straightening out like it’s being driven by Jason Bourne, is a thing of real beauty....

Apparently, Mimir is not well liked by the dwarves of Svartalfheim because of his hand in Odin’s subjugation of the realm. In the nearby Bay of Bounty, the dwarves maintain three Mining Rigs in service of Asgard. To go some way to making amends for his deceitful past, Kratos and Atreus agree to help Mimir take the Mining Rigs out of commission and sever one of Odin’s key holds over Svartalfheim....

The developer – as it showed off a soundtrack recorded with more musicians, animation done on larger paper with more frames of hand-drawn art, and bosses with more phases and backgrounds than anything we saw in the base game – compared the DLC to how Disney lead up to the launch of Fantasia with everything it learned in the 30s; bringing in all the lessons it learned from previous blockbuster releases into this new, ground-breaking project....
