The developer marked this year’s International Women’s Day with a slightly updated female lead in a tweet today, which shows the default female protagonist with a new face and red hair. Responding to a commenter’s query about the game’s reversible box art, CD Projekt replied “You’re looking at it :)” with the hashtag #InternationalWomensDay. The female design of protagonist V was first revealed during E3 2018 - at that point she featured brown hair, slightly softer facial design, and dark eye makeup....

With the events of I Walk the Line in Pacifica behind the pair, and their story with Takemura heating up, Act 3 of the game marks the final stretch before the end-game. With the realisation that he might soon be gone for good, Johnny asks V to make good on some of the misdeeds of his life. During today’s PS5 games showcase, Demon’s Souls was announced for PS5. The game is in development at Bluepoint Games - as previously thought, known more recently for its work on the Shadow of the Colossus remake. Sony’s Japan Studio is also working on the remake. Today’s trailer showed off the remake’s vastly improved visuals, but sadly didn’t bring us a release date. The game supports ray tracing, and players will be able to pick between a mode that favours framerate, and another that pushes visuals....

With either the Half Truths or The Other Half swords, which were newly added to the game as part of the 30th anniversary update, each weapon has a chance to have the Eager Edge trait built in. This trait provides increased lunge distance immediately after switching to the sword. Just weeks ago, Google-owned YouTube forced two of the most well-known (and most used) Discord music bots to stop operating within Discord. Rythm and Groovy were both victims of a cease and desist issued by the megacorporation, much to the irritation of the 30 million-plus users who employed the bot’s services. In efforts to bring some of that music/YouTube functionality back to Discord, Google seems to be making a partnership with the company official....

We already know that Techland will be sharing a Dying Light 2 dev update this coming week, but ahead of whatever the next reveal is going to be, the studio has spoken out about the game’s infamous development issues. One of the replies to the tweet that announced the incoming news noted that “this game feels like dev hell”. Eager to defend the game – and its development process – the official Dying Light 2 account noted: “DL2 keeps moving forward, we announced the game too early but it’s far from being in a dev hell”....

The development team at Techland has already stated that fixing disconnects in co-op is one of its main priorities, but thanks to a set of new tweets over the weekend, we’ve seen what else the studio is working on as the post-launch period for the game continues. The updates are broken by down by platform, and then broken down again into fixes that are ready for implementation, and the issues that the company is working on....

According to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), it has listened to feedback and is “committed to keeping E3 at the level you’ve come to expect.” The show will be teaming up with iam8bit which is not only a shop but a creative production agency that has helped produce events for Bethesda, Capcom, Double Fine, and others. “You’ll be happy to know that we’re not producing E3 2020 in a vacuum,” reads the statement....

Overnight, the hashtag #EAGATE started trending on Twitter after a number of big FIFA content creators shared their reactions to an apparent Ultimate Team scandal where an EA employee sold FUT Icon cards to players for thousands of dollars. FUT Icons are among the rarest, most sought after cards in FIFA Ultimate Team. Most of them can only be obtained in FUT’s various packs (loot boxes), and most players never get them....

The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is a “collectible role-playing game that brings the fantasy and adventure of The Lord of the Rings to existing fans and new audiences alike in a strategic, social-competitive experience,” according to EA (via BusinessWire). Apparently it’s a part of the company’s efforts to continue delivering live service titles, and to “reach more players on more platforms around the world.” Heroes of Middle-earth will apparently feature turn-based combat, with a big roster of characters from both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit....

EA’s Respawn studio is apparently working on a brand new IP. That’s according to a now-deleted job ad on the developer’s website – spotted by VGC – in which the company was hiring for a “generalist software engineer” for its “new IP incubation team.” The post didn’t give much about this new project away, aside from a reference to “new, practical technologies to enable ‘adventuring forever’," whatever the hell that means....

Shortly after the 1.6GB patch went live, developer FromSoftware published the full change log, clarifying what players can expect from each of the three colosseums. The most interesting reveal in update 1.08’s patch notes is that each of the three colosseums has its own rules and limitations, which not only makes for a unique experience, it also upgrades them to be more than simple PvP areas. The Limgrave colosseum has two game modes: United Combat, and Combat Ordeal....

While in the west only two Earthbound games have officially been released, known as Mother in Japan, there is a third game that you might have heard of that never came out over here.
