I know a lot of people out there have been considering picking up a cheap Xbox One for Game Pass and chances are you aren’t going to find an Xbox Black Friday deal that beats this one. So, pick this up with an Xbox Game Pass subscription and you’ll be able to catch up on first-party releases such as Gears 5, Sea of Thieves and more....

Thymesia is operating on a bit of a budget, so while the main mechanics are fairly simple and well-explained, much of that depth is tucked away in menus. It’s worth taking the time to dig through some of them to see how it all works. But if you can’t be bothered, we’ve put together a few brief gameplay tips to help you better understand what’s going on, highlight mechanics that are easy to miss, and generally let you make the most out of Thymesia....

While 2022 is set to be a crazy year for games already you’ve got a little bit more time left before it starts to get hectic, as January is quite a slow month for major releases. That being said, you’ve still got games like Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Rainbow Six Extraction standing out as massive exceptions....

Users from around the internet are reporting that Borderlands 3 on the PS5 and Xbox Series X is running up to 120fps. When next-gen consoles hit, a lot of the conversation ends up being about performance. Features and gimmicks always help, but when you get down to it, how well a game looks and plays is often going to be a key factor. If you are planning on picking up Gearbox’s smash-hit Borderlands 3 on a next-gen console, you might be in for a pleasant surprise too....

Hints that the company that owns Steam is working on this new hardware initially came from YouTuber Brad Lynch who found multiple references in Valve’s SteamVR code “Deckard” – a nice, sci-fi codename for the theoretical headset. Lynch noted that “Valve [has] been retooling the Deckard to work with Steam VR for the past year,” and that the various files discovered in the Steam VR database – ranging from input profile references to proof of concept files – hint at a more standalone design than what we’ve seen from Valve in the past....

But what exactly were people desperate to play on their new PS3? I was at the March 2006 UK launch, somewhere in London, probably in a store that no longer exists and is now a Greggs. While there we interviewed the now Stadia-failer Phil Harrison – who is essentially a giant. I’d never spoken to a man so intimidatingly large before. Phil, as big a deal as he was in his PlayStation days (lots of ducks, etc) was not my highlight of the evening....

Much like before, Vi is coming with a selection of other cosmetics based on the character. These include the Bunny Memories of Zaun Back Bling which comes with the outfit, a Piltover Warden Hammer Pickaxe, and the Punching Practice emote. All these come either as single items available to players, or piled together as part of the Arcane Vi Bundle, which adds an exclusive Piltover’s Finest Loading Screen. For those who missed Jinx the first time around, her and all the Jinx-themed cosmetics will also be appearing in the store alongside Vi, so you’ll have a chance to grab everything if you perhaps got onboard the Arcane hype train a tad late....

There are all kinds of colours available, from the default ‘Carbon Black’ to funkier options like ‘Arctic Camo’, in case you ever need to game whilst lying low in a frosty wasteland. I can’t tell you how many times that’s happened to me. All of these variants are selling for the exact same amount. You can pick one up for $39, a pretty significant $20 discount off the base price....

The sci-fi game - coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2022 - is developed by a team of former Team Ninja staff, whose credits include Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive - and, as the trailer likes to point out, Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball. Wanted: Dead takes place in a future Hong Kong where synthetics and people with synthetic replacements face discrimination, as the world shifts to more “orthodox” options, leaving synthetics to do menial jobs....

Blizzard has released a patch for Warcraft 3: Reforged which among other things updates all campaign characters and visual assets. You can also now toggle between Classic and Reforged mode for graphics, it also adds a “Grid” or traditional hotkey layouts and more. While you are looking over the patch notes, you should also have a gander at the current known issues and various bug reports. If you have never dipped your toes into the original or are wanting to know how the updated version holds up, here’s our review in-progress....

First up, the latest patch for the game has fixed some fairly serious issues with the title – the most problematic coming from the Hunt for Adler limited-time event. Completion should now be registered when you tackle the tasks, and intel should spawn correctly too. The event was supposed to conclude on April 28, but it looks like Raven is considering extending the end date in response to the various issues players have had....

Patch 1.1.0, which is now live on PC will arrive on consoles soon, fixes various game-breaking issues that would “cause character and quest progression to be lost” in the post-apocalyptic RPG. Also, if you’ve been plagued with loading screens getting stuck at 33%, the new patch sorts those out for you (but inXile notes that some loading screen issues may persist, even once you’ve updated to version 1.1.0). There are a couple of balance changes arriving in-game with the new patch; most notably, Polly and the Cyborg Chickens are getting buffed....

Sable, the action adventure with a very Moebius-inspired art style, has been fairly dormant since it was revealed. With only one or two updates per year, Sable has been more mysterious than we would like. But it looks like the 2021 release target will hold, because developer Shedworks is starting to show the game off again. The latest trailer presents 13 minutes of gameplay, offering our most detailed look at the game yet....

Nintendo is holding its latest Nintendo Direct broadcast later today and you can check it out right here. The Nintendo Direct is kicking off at 2pm PST, 5pm EST, and 10pm UK and will last for 50 minutes. The Japanese giant has said that this broadcast will be focusing on already-released games like brawler Super Smash Bros Ultimate, in addition to other titles that are set to come to its Nintendo Switch in the first half of 2021....

Berkanan sap gets used in a number of important crafting recipes, though, so if you plan on tackling some of Endwalker’s post-game challenges or crafting a lot, you’ll need plenty of it. The long-awaited BlizzConline finally took place last weekend. With the event postponed from its usual end-of-year calendar slot, we’ve had to wait a few more months to hear news about Blizzard’s ridiculous amount of hit titles. For World of Warcraft specifically it’s meant we’ve had to hold on even longer for an update on patch 9.1 and where we’re heading next in the Shadowlands. Despite many of the big announcements being stumbled across by fans a few days early, there was still plenty of news for us to get stuck into as WoW’s latest patch, Chains of Domination, was formally revealed, alongside new zones, dungeons, mounts, pets, and maw (I’ll never get tired of that pun)....

The new Winds of Wisdom buff increases all experience gained in WoW by 100 percent, running from now through to April 20, the company announced on the official WoW website. “If you’re staying inside and find yourself returning to Azeroth, or if you’re leveling another character (or two), you’ll be getting a special bonus to help you on your way,” reads the statement. The Winds of Wisdom buff applies to everyone playing, even if you own the Starter Edition or Legion....

In a statement on the Xbox blog, Catherine Gluckstein, vice president and head of product for Project xCloud, confirmed that Xbox Cloud Gaming is hitting more platforms on April 20, allowing select users signed up to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to demo the streaming tech on new platforms. “Starting tomorrow, we’ll begin sending out invites to select Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to start testing the Xbox Cloud Gaming limited beta for Windows 10 PCs and Apple phones and tablets via web browsers,” said Gluckstein....
