After unveiling that it’s working on a new version of PSVR just last month, Sony is already starting to show off just how different this next step in its virtual reality plan is from the PS4’s take on VR. In a new article over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony’s senior vice president of platform planning & management, Hideaki Nishino, explains some of the thinking behind these fancy new controllers. “Our new VR controller speaks to our mission of achieving a much deeper sense of presence and stronger feeling of immersion in VR experiences,” he explains....

Microsoft has pretty much revealed all remaining details about Xbox Series X this week. We finally got the price, release date and even when pre-orders will go live. Now that retailers are free to start putting their Xbox Series X pages live, we’re getting our first look at the box the console is going to come in. Canadian retailer The Source (via Wario64) already has a pre-order page up, and wouldn’t you know it, it actually has a picture of the box....

As promised, today is the day Minecraft RTX open beta goes live. This is a special branch of the Windows 10, Bedrock version that uses ray tracing, physically-based rendering and other cutting-edge graphical techniques to completely change how the game looks. The beta goes live today at 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm UK, but you’ll first need to sign up through the Xbox Insider website to get an invite. You can also download the Insider App and do it there....

Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s first console to get rid of the Optical Port, which many relied on to get audio out of the console. The decision to not offer it as an option this time around is one Microsoft had to make for a number of reasons. That’s according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, who told IGN in an interview that it came down to price and space, but also player usage....

If you’re a fan of punk-styled, apologetic biker fighters, then you’re in luck; Rival Schools’ Akira has finally been shown off in Capcom’s premier fighting game. We’ve known that Akira is coming to the game for a little while now, but the latest Capcom livestream showed off some gameplay for the character – and she looks great. Check out her first gameplay trailer below. Long-time fans of the series may note that she is rocking a lot of older moves, mixed in with some new additions, and Akira’s older brother Daigo will be making an appearance, too....

Granted, it’s just super short, but it still provides a look at the 3D animation, and shows Sonic running and catching rings before posing with one. So it’s more of a teaser than anything, really. As announced in February last year, the series will consist of 24-episodes aimed at kids, families, and long-time fans. In it, the blue speedster will become entangled in the fate of a “strange new multiverse”....

On PC you can grab it from Steam, and Epic Games and Microsoft stores. It is also available to all Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members. Playing as the wannabe rockstar Chai, you will find an enemy robotics enhancement conglomerate using rhythm-amplified combat. Everything from the motion in the environment to combat is synced to the music. The premise of the game, is that this evil corporation has fused a music player to Chai’s heart....

Hitman 3 payers on PC will need to go through a three-step process to import their Hitman and Hitman 2 locations. First, you will need to read the instructions, review your accounts, and claim your content to import locations. Be sure to double-check all your choices before claiming content as it cannot be undone or reversed. The content you claim will be an ‘Access Pass DLC’. For example, if you own Hitman 2, you can claim the appropriate Access Pass....

This absolutely cursed-looking final boss may just be the top half of a skeleton, but he’s terrifyingly huge. He moves like something out of Little Nightmares and aims some apocalyptically frightening attacks your way. By this point you’ve fought Eikthyr, a giant electric stag, The Elder, a furiously grieving tree, Bonemass, an animated clump of graveyard goo, and Moder, a mother dragon who wasn’t so much angry as disappointed in you....

Developed by Jonathan Blow, Braid is a puzzle-based platformer where you need to manipulate time in order to progress through levels. The game employs a unique rewind mechanic in which certain objects around you move in reverse to how they originally did, and the only way to solve its puzzles is to figure out the perfect way of forcing time backwards. It’s complex, sure, but it’s also manageable, and very rewarding....

It sure seems that cult classic film series Tron is the next pop culture thing Fortnite is doing a thing with. That’s going by a video on the battle royale’s official Twitter account, which has a character finding a very old computer that… eventually scans him into the hardware after saying “Make yourself comfortable.” That sure sounds like Tron to me! This follows Fortnite news account HypeX posting images of an area called Mainframe Portal which was data mined from the game....

It can also be a game about just having fun with your opponent, and not taking this card game on your phone seriously, like some perv. The point is: Marvel Snap is perceived differently by the millions of people who play it, and that is in no way better represented than by its Titles feature. Titles are what you think they are; simple, snappy sentences you can pick to show up next to your avatar....

Developer Hazelight Games has taken to Twitter to announce the milestone, where the studio noted that sales are “still going strong” whilst thanking players for “the love you’ve shown our game”. “Wow!!! Just found out It Takes Two has sold over one million copies and is still going strong!” a tweet from the studio’s official Twitter account notes. “Thank you so much for all the love you’ve shown our game, it means the world to us....

This information comes from industry insider and incessant chatterbox Jeff Grubb, who started talking about the unannounced sequel in a Giant Bomb stream. Grubb reckons that publisher EA and developer Respawn want to debut the game “in a significant way” prior to E3 kicking off in June this year. This will give the studio and the publisher plenty of time to get the title hyped up and in front of people’s eyes before a potential release at the end of 2022....

Since FIFA 20, the Old Lady of Turin has appeared as ‘Piemonte Calcio’ due to licensing agreements with FIFA’s cross-town rival, eFootball (formerly Pro Evolution Soccer, RIP). However, Juventus has signed a new exclusive multi-year contract with EA to appear in their games, in another twist in a rivalry almost as great as the Derby Della Mole between Juve and Torino. As well as the classic black-and-white striped kit, FIFA 23 will feature an authentic representation of the Bianconeri’s Allianz stadium and a new face-scan for up-and-coming star striker Dusan Vlahovic....

Kingdom Hearts 4 was announced alongside the mobile game, obviously overshadowing it, and while we don’t yet have a release date for either, Missing-Link was initially said to start beta testing in winter this year. Alas, we’re well into winter, and we now finally have an update on the game of sorts. Shared to the Twitter account for Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, game director and designer Tetsuya Nomura revealed on December 19 that recruitment for Kingom Hearts Missing-Link play tests has now started....
