Movement is one mechanic that evolves with every Battlefield game. It only becomes apparent how much better the latest iteration is upon going back to revisit older titles. With Battlefield 5, DICE felt like it nailed this core component of any shooter, to a level the studio had never reached before. Battlefield 5’s characters felt easier and more responsive to control. You can vault over short walls, into and out of windows with momentum, roll to negate fall damage upon landing, run while crouched, and even pull yourself up to higher surfaces....

Battlefield is my go-to multiplayer shooter, the game I fall back on whenever I’m after a specific shooter fix. It’s my comfort food in that sense, something I just can’t get from any other series. I have been waiting for the next Battlefield since it became clear DICE doesn’t have a solid idea of what it wants to do with Battlefield 5. Available for PC and PlayStation 4, Biomutant patch 1.5 is rather large and applies fixes for crashing, tweaks loot, adds a scrap action, and more. With the patch, the team at Experiment 101 improved the looting experience but tweaking how loot generation works. This has reduced duplicate items and improved variety. The studio has also added several new items which have higher stats than their lower rarity counterparts. As part of Take-Two’s earnings reveal for Q4 of FY2021, the publisher shared some insight into its plans for several years into the future. Ray tracing for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was announced during Nvidia’s presentation today where it revealed the new 3000 series of graphics cards. The trailer was made exclusively for Nvidia, so it shows scenes not included in the previous trailers. Earlier this week, the beta date for the game leaked. It’s set to kick off on October 8 PS4 players, followed by other platforms at a later date....

In the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War four-person co-op mode DNA: Zombies, players can expect a fresh, new narrative along with a new cast of characters. The mode includes new ways to progress, classic Perks, and Cold War weapons. As per a new update from the company, the worldwide reveal will take place on August 19 at 10.30am PT / 1.30pm ET / 9.30pm BST within Call of Duty: Warzone. Platforms and release date have yet to be confirmed for the game haven’t been revealed yet, but you can probably assume these will come during the full reveal. Call of Duty: Warzone, as with most other games released on PS4 and Xbox One, is playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S through backwards compatibility. But since the new consoles’ release, Warzone hasn’t been updated to really make use of their features. On Xbox Series X, players have technically been enjoying 120fps support, but the feature came through an unannounced patch that also doesn’t allow Warzone to fully utilise the power of the new hardware, even if it offers some benefits....

Ever join a lobby in a game and think ’this server is dead?’ That might now be because you’re a cheat, as a new anti-cheat system called Ricochet that’s been added to Vanguard has added a unique technique called Cloaking. This new technique was detailed over on the Call of Duty blog, diving into how it’s meant to combat cheating (thanks, Game Developer). “With Cloaking, players that are detected to be cheating can find themselves unable to see opposing players in the game world,” reads the blog post....
