There’s a new trailer for an upcoming Dynasty Warriors movie and it sure is something. The promo – posted on Twitter by Niko Partners Daniel “ZhugeEx” Ahmad – is for a film set to launch in Mainstream China on April 30 and it’s perhaps the most, er, “interesting” 50 seconds of video we have seen for some time. We’re not really sure what is happening, but the movie definitely seems to capture the rather over-the-top action of Koei Tecmo’s long-running series of video games, rather than toning it down as many film adaptations tend to do....

The rating, spotted by Gematsu, was issued today for the Game of the Year Edition. This usually indicates an official announcement is close by, and since – last we heard - CD Projekt Red is planning to release this version before the end of the year, we likely we won’t be waiting much to learn more. That said, the developer recently indicated that it could slip into 2022, as it does not want to repeat the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077....

Earlier this week, Ubisoft announced in its Q1 fiscal year 2023 call to investors it has delayed a “smaller unannounced premium title.” A release date is to be determined. According to Bloomberg, the delayed game is the next Assassins Creed which reportedly stars Valhalla’s Basim and is in development under the codename Rift. Rift is said to have originally started life as an expansion for Valhalla before beig expanded into its own title....

The upcoming open-world vampire survival game from Stunlock Studios will enter closed beta on March 23, and the first test session will run for one week, giving invited players a chance to build castles, hunt for blood, and explore the world of Vardoran ahead of the game’s Early Access launch. This week, the Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 development team lost two of its most public-facing leads. Publisher Paradox announced that lead narrative designer Brian Mitsoda, and creative director Ka’ai Cluney are “no longer part of the team.” According to the blog post breaking the news, the decision was jointly made by Paradox and developer Hardsuit Labs. The company has brought on Alexandre Mandryka, who joins a creative consultant to see the game through to the finish line....

Where do you find lightsabers in Fortnite? Potentially anywhere. Lightsabers may spawn wherever there’s normally loot, but it seems that there’s no fixed lightsaber location. We also haven’t had any luck finding them in chests, though it’s always worth a try just in case. Lightsabers have a golden halo around them, similar to other mythic weapons, and their distinct lightsaber appearance makes them difficult to overlook. The Nintendo Switch OLED isn’t up for pre-order yet, but that hasn’t stopped retailers from listing it in advance for eager buyers. In case you missed it, Nintendo’s latest console comes with a 7-inch OLED screen for an easy-on-the-eyes gameplay experience. The upgrade also boasts amped-up audio, larger 64GB internal storage, and an added physical LAN port. The Nintendo Switch OLED comes in two colors schemes: white or neon red/neon blue....

As we’ve come to expect from Witchfire developer The Astronauts, the team has returned with a new update on development progress. The latest dev blog, posted this week, is special because it chronicles a major step towards release. The team at The Astronauts has created a new playable demo that the developer says nails the core combat loop. Prior to that, much of the team’s time was spent creating new systems and mechanics, using placeholder assets....

Well, Sony may have addressed the problem. At least partly. A new video from Youtuber TronicsFix has shown us under the hood of the latest pads – the ones that come in Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, Starlight Blue – and it seems that Sony has quietly improved the tech inside since the first wave of DualSense pads went out (thanks, GamesRadar). World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic content will be rolled out in phases this year. Originally released in January 2007, The Burning Crusade takes players to the Outland to stop the Burning Legion. This year, Blizzard’s recreation of the first World of Warcraft expansion will take you back to the Outland where reavers roam Hellfire Peninsula. You will also traverse the swamps of Zangarmarsh and clash with the Burning Legion in the Black Temple....

Microsoft has announced that its E3 2021 events are not yet done. On Thursday, June 17, the platform holder will be hosting the Xbox Games Showcase: Extended, a special showcase featuring developer interviews and a deeper look at some of their projects. The event takes place 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm UK. So far, Microsoft confirmed attendance of Hellblade maker Ninja Theory, Psychonauts’ Double Fine, Sea of Thieves creator Rare, as well as The Outer Worlds/Avowed developer Obsidian....

Next month’s Xbox Games with Gold update include Call of Cthulhu, Fable Heroes and more. Xbox One users with Gold can download TT Isle of Man for the entire month. On February 16, Call of Cthulhu will become available and remain on the service until March 15. Starting February 1, Fable Heroes will become available for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users. It will be replaced by the original Star Wars Battlefront on February 16....

We finally have a price and a launch date for Xbox Series X. Microsoft has officially announced today that Xbox Series X, its premier next-gen console, will retail for $499/£449/€499. Xbox Series X, along with the recently announced Series S ($299), will be available worldwide beginning November 10.
