The news comes from an interview with GIBiz, during which Ryan also mentioned that the PS5 is going to launch globally this holiday. In terms of the cost of PS5 games, however, Ryan was posed a question on how expensive looking last month’s PS5 tech demo in Unreal Engine 5 looked. “I think, to the extent that the technology enables the graphics side of it to become more interesting and life-like, [the games] will become slightly more human intensive and capital intensive to produce,” Ryan told GIBiz....
During the press conference, Sony showed off more details about the PS5 accesory, including info about of the controllers that you’ll be using to navigate your way around the new VR setup, a new title designed specifically for the hardware, and – perhaps most importantly – the specs. Interestingly, an article over on the PlayStation Blog also notes that the PSVR 2 will have an incredibly simple set-up, needing only a single cable required to be connected directly to the PS5 console (much easier than the previous model)....
Ads from PlayStation 5 maker Sony were seen almost as much as the rest of the industry combined. That’s according to data from iSpot.tv over on VentureBeat, which shows that Sony’s adverts racked up a huge 701m impressions on US TV between October 16 and November 15. Its most-viewed ad was the PlayStation 5 launch trailer, Play Has No Limits, which was seen 258.4m times. In total, Sony was behind 47% of the total impressions for US TV ads for this period, and almost three times as much as Xbox managed....
The breakout hit that mixed Halo and Portal will no longer have any feature updates, but while this marks the end of one game, it also marks the start of another. In a statement provided on Twitter, 1047 Games explained its decision to stop development on Splitgate, while also reassuring fans that its next game will also be a shooter with portals. “After careful consideration and much deliberation the 1047 Games team has determined that in order to build the game fans deserve - and to build it in a way that isn’t trying to retrofit and live operate an existing product - we are ending feature development of Splitgate,” reads the announcement....
Just three weeks ago, it was reported that GSC Game World had relocated to Prague (via Eurogamer), and development on the game continues. Previously, the game had been delayed to December of 2022, and in light of the invasion, development was understandably shifted to the sidelines. News of STALKER 2’s second delay comes from the Xbox & Bethesda showcase last night (June 12), in which an Xbox graphic detailing upcoming releases for the next 12 months showed STALKER 2 within its roster....

These characters include bounty hunters, stormtroopers, wookies, and heroes of the Rebellion. Once you build your team, you will then face off against other squads in arenas based on iconic Star Wars settings. The game’s timeline is set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens....
According to the company, franchises such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Galaxy of Heroes, Battlefront, Jedi: Fallen Order, and Star Wars Squadrons have generated $3 billion life-to-date net bookings and 52 million games sold. And Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, the free-to-play mobile title, is a $1 billion franchise. Because the IP is such a boon to the company, we can expect EA to continue to invest in those, as well as some new experiences across platforms for the future, according to the company....
If you need proof that Steam users love cats, the game had 62,963 concurrent players within 24 hours of release with over 284,000 views on Twitch. But it’s not surprising since it has been a highly anticipated title for many since its announcement in 2020. As of press time, the game is sitting in 27th position on the Steam concurrent players list with 31,052 users after peaking at 51,455 concurrent players earlier today....
For the first time, the show’s world premieres, live gameplay demos, and announcements will take place in front of a live audience at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California. The show will be streamed live across all major streaming platforms including YouTube and Twitch. 13 might be unlucky for some, but it’s not so bad in Mario 64 - Tiny-Huge Island is one of the best levels in the game. It has a unique gimmick, which is that you can be tiny or huge. Thus the course name. That means giant Goombas, and tiny, harmless Goombas. You swap size in-course by hopping into a pipe. The course is in a room off the upper lobby of the castle, and there’s two paintings - a small one and a big one....
Ratchet & Clank: Life of Pie appears to have launched on a streaming service with no prior announcement or fanfare, and was discovered by Reddit users shortly after its debut. You can see the listing for the film over on the Crave website. The animation was completed by the Mainframe – the same studio that made the Ratchet & Clank feature film back in 2016 – and was apparently completed in 2019....
That’s according to a report from Thurrott which cites sources close to Microsoft’s plans for Xbox Series X. Initially, it was thought the rectangular port which sets between the HDMI and digital audio port was for diagnostics. It’s unknown at present the technology Microsoft will use for the expandable storage, but the report suggests it will require high-speed hardware. Digital Foundry’s Richard Leadbetter suggested when the back of Xbox Series X first popped up the mystery port was an “expandable storage bay for NVMe PCI Express drives....

The patch hails the arrival of the playable Barbarian class and the introduction and Improvised Weapons, alongside many other additions, changes and fixes, bringing the game further down the path toward 1.0. Patch 7 adds a fog of war mechanic that obscures unexplored rooms, makes tweaks to Darkvision and light/dark detection, and much more. Of course, it also adds the Barbarian class as mentioned above, and plenty of changes and additions made possible by the community....
This year’s Game of the Year nominees are Deathloop, It Takes Two, Metroid Dread, Psychonauts 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Resident Evil Village. In the Best Performance category, nominees include Giancarlo Esposito of Far Cry 6, Jason E. Kelley and Ozioma Akagha of Deathloop, Erika Mori of Life is Strange: True Colors, and Maggie Robertson of Resident Evil Village. Meitenkun – who has become something of a meme amongst the series’ fans because he is always, always seen carrying a pillow – will be returning to the long-running fighting franchise in King of Fighters 15.
