Starting July 22 through July 29, you can download Black Ops Cold War free access in order to get in on some multiplayer and Zombies action. Multiplayer modes and maps will include NukeJacked 24/7, Paintball Moshpit, Throwback Moshpit, Party Games, Team Deathmatch, and more. Free Access players can also try out the full offering of Treyarch’s round-based Zombies maps, including the new Mauer der Toten map in Season Four Reloaded....

In the latest series of Bleeding Edge videos, we’re given a look at Gizmo, who is one of the DPS heroes in the game. Gizmo makes use of her GG Gun and can dole out some nice damage from elevated positions, like a true DPS character. GG Gun is one of her basic abilities and it’s a bolt gun with fire rate increasing over time. Her other basic ability is Evade, which allows her to dodge out of harm’s way, but will cost stamina....

The bug in question removes any damage drop-off when she shoots at an opponent player under 20 metres. Normally the amount of damage you do scales based on how close or far away you are, but this bug means that as long as you’re within 20 metres, you’re essentially doing the maximum amount of damage, presuming that your aim is good. It’s generally been expected that Tracer would be disabled as a result, but as spotted by PCGamesN, a comment from the game’s director Aaron Keller on a Reddit post about the bug has explained she won’t be taken out of the game....

Bloodborne PSX is a project that’s being developed by Lilith Walther, and is effectively a demake of the massively popular From Software title that many gamers fell in love with at launch back in 2015. You can see some snapshots of the Unreal Engine project over on Twitter (thanks, The Gamer). In various tweets on the developer’s @b0tster account, you can see elements of the game in action and read up on the development history of the project so far....

From November 19 through December 3, Borderlands 3 players will get Legendary item rewards for completing select campaign missions during the free Golden Path Mini-Event. You will be able to acquire the Lyuda Legendary Vladof Sniper Rifle, Handsome Jackhammer Legendary Hyperion SMG, Nemesis Legendary Dahl Pistol, Hellwalker Legendary Jakobs Shotgun, and more. During the event, select missions in the main story campaign guarantee Legendary rewards. It’s worth noting the buff does not apply to optional side missions or any missions in campaign add-ons....

Alongside the specs comes a new trailer showing off PC-specific features in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. You will need to watch it on a 4K compatible screen to see the benefits. As previously reported, on PC you can expect 4K Graphics, an uncapped framerate, RTX shadows, ambient occlusion, Nvidia DLSS and Reflex Technology, ultrawide and multi-monitor support, and crossplay. The battle royale mode is teased in the official trailer for Season 2, featuring mention of gas and a foggy glimpse of a new map. The game’s main menu also features a “Classified” section. According to YouTuber Ryan B, players who become the COD caster in a private match on the new Atlas Superstore map can access a rough rendition of the new battle royale map. You can check the map below, as well as get a look at some grabs that confirm what looks like a gulag, airstrip, sports arena and a hydro dam....

Call of Duty: Warzone players will be able to jump into a new Contract when the game updates today. Called Most Wanted, you will make yourself a Bounty Target for all teams in Verdansk. If you survive you will receive a redeployment for all of your fallen teammates. You can pick up the Contract in a game of Battle Royale in Solos, Trios, Quads, or Plunder Trios this week. Shoot the Ship also returns to the specialty playlist and features Shoot House and Shipment....

Activision’s Call of Duty franchise is once again going to be set during the Second World War. That’s according to Modern Warzone - and confirmed by Eurogamer - which reports that the Sledgehammer-developed shooter is codenamed Vanguard. Apparently, this will be the title’s final name, too. Modern Warzone’s reports suggest that the game is set in an alternate universe where World War 2 continued beyond 1945 and is set in the 1950s, but Eurogamer’s reporting says this detail isn’t correct....

Call of Duty Warzone is Modern Warfare’s take on the popular battle royale subgenre. The mode was officially teased with the Season 2 opening cinematic, and is currently hiding behind the Classified tile on the game’s main menu. Pretty much all of Warzone’s biggest mechanics have already leaked, as many managed to glitch into the Classified tile. All that’s really left now is wait for Warzone to release, and it looks like that’ll be a while....

When you have the likes of Infinity Ward, Gray Matter Studios, Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software, Neversoft, High Moon Studios, and Beenox and whoever else Activision sends to the CoD salt mines, though, that’s fairly unsurprising, right? Releasing nearly one game per year for over a decade is a surefire way of racking up the sales. But, despite knowing that the series is one of the best-selling game franchises across modern consoles, players are having a laugh at Activision’s expense this week as a misprint has been discovered on the Canadian version of the Modern Warfare 2 Xbox physical edition....

The trick? Well, the MP40 at its core is a very strong gun to begin with, but once you use the right attachments it becomes a whole other monster. There’s a lot of attachments to choose from when it comes to the MP40, but Dorrani has found two that when combined create an incredibly powerful 2-shot kill MP40. The pair that act as the star of the show here are 8MM Kurz Rounds and Hollow Point ammunition....

Capcom Cup was delayed last year and was moved from Paris to the US. It was rescheduled to take place during the first quarter of 2021. Alongside the cancellation, the Street Fighter League World Championship scheduled for February 19-21 has also been canceled. “While we strongly believe that we could have executed a great event with limited risk to players, staff, and crew, we have reevaluated as the situation has evolved and the state of this global pandemic has heightened,” said Capcom....

Earlier today, the Japanese publisher and developer announced the Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Spring Update livestream, which will debut on April 6 at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST. As per the announcement, this livestream will feature updates on the recently-rolled out Season V, and will provide updates on what we can expect from incoming downloadable content characters Rose and Oro, as well as more news to be announced, too....

First up, it was announced that a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is in development. Going by Project Orion at present, the game will “prove the full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe,” and is to be developed by CD Projekt Red. The company also confirmed The Molasses Flood, the indie studio it acquired in October 2021, is working on Project Sirius, an “innovative take on The Witcher universe.” The project will tell an “unforgettable story for existing Witcher fans and new audiences....

Just last week, we heard that Flying Hog was planning to launch Shadow Warrior 3 on Xbox One and PS4, as well as PC. Now, to keep that hype train chugging, the publisher has shown off another one of the game’s missions. According to the description of the level, players can expect a frenetic journey to the top of the titular dam where Lo Wang does battle with the Seeking Shokera, a flying enemy from which the Seeking Eye—a new Gore Weapon—can be torn and turned against multiple enemies....

Closed beta testing for Microsoft Flight Simulator is scheduled to begin on July 30 once the build goes through final testing. Those who participated in the alpha will be granted access to the closed beta, and recently, more alpha invites have been sent out to those who signed up. More invitations to the closed beta will be set out to Insiders as things roll on. If you get an invite, be sure to look over the the minimum and recommended specs....

The news comes from Reddit, where a user named nstav13 shared a particularly lengthy post on the possibility for a future Assassin’s Creed game to be based in China. They don’t reckon it will be the next one, mind - that one is going to be on the Black Death, according to their brain machinations - but that it could potentially be the one after. Both games were up for Game of the Year at the 2020 DICE Awards, alongside Disco Elysium, Outer Wilds, and Death Stranding - but Untitled Goose Game took home the coveted award. Death Stranding and Control are also up for Game of the Year at the GDC Awards in March, alongside Outer Wilds and Untitled Goose Game. Untitled Goose Game took home three awards in total as it also won for Independent Game and Character....

Players who own the Digital Deluxe version of Control for PlayStation 4 and Season Pass holders will automatically receive the AWE expansion today. AWE will take Bureau Director Jesse Faden to the Investigations Sector of the Oldest House, where the Federal Bureau of Control closely examines Altered World Events (AWE) – happenings where forces breach the world with sometimes “grave consequences.” The expansion, which becomes available following the completion of the seventh main mission in the campaign, will require you to enter the Investigations Sector and confront the creature hanging around this long-abandoned part of the Bureau....
