After gathering Pokemon-specific Mega Energy in Mega Raids, trainers can trigger a limited-time Mega Evolution to beef up the power of their Pokemon. These Mega Evolved Pokemon can then be used to battle other raids, defeat gyms and Team Go Rocket, play with friends, and flex as your buddy. The Pokemon Company has today announced that Pokemon Presents, its livestream series focusing on upcoming Pokemon games, will air its next episode on Wednesday, August 18 at 6am PT, 9am ET, 2pm UK. The show will bring us new details about Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, as well as Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The game, which introduces Generation 9 of Pokemon, has managed to sell 10 million units globally in both physical and digital sales in its first three days on the market. The press release, which is via Business Wire, states, “This is the highest global sales level for any software on any Nintendo platform within the first three days.” That’s a huge feat for Nintendo, and for the Pokemon franchise on a whole....
Back when Pokemon Sword and Shield first released last November, it’s fair to say I felt a pang of disappointment. That disappointment was no doubt in part thanks to the fact that I’d been dreaming of what a full console-based 3D Pokemon title would look like since roughly 1999, around two or three hours after I first started playing Pokemon Blue. It perhaps wasn’t surprising that Pokemon Sword and Shield didn’t live up to that - but it also had a list of issues I stand by, such as a criticism of the game’s generally static-looking state in battle, especially in light of the game cutting back on the number of included Pokemon to theoretically allow for a greater degree of detail....
People will be able to get their first taste of Pokemon Unite in the wild in just a few weeks. The Pokemon Company has said that a beta for the game will be rolling out in Canada in March, but only to those with Android devices. To sign up you should head here; you have to be at least 16 in order to participate. Any progress you make during the beta will not be carried over into the full game when it comes out....
Yeah, that’s right. Pre-orders of the remake are being cancelled and costs refunded back to keen fans. The update, which was last updated November 7, says that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is “not cancelled”. Ubisoft also then says that the game is currently still in development at Ubisoft Montreal. The update continues, with Ubisoft adding that, “since the game currently does not have a release date, existing pre-orders have been cancelled and refunded where applicable....
Let’s start with a a top-line of what Slay the Spire actually is: it’s a turn-based, dungeon-crawler, deck-builder that plays like a roguelike. At present, invites will only work for players when using their own platforms. When you team up with another person using the same console, it will show the specific platform’s icon. So, say you are playing with another Xbox One player, it will show that particular icon....
Popular streamer Lance McDonald, who is primarily known for his Bloodborne and Dark Souls content, recently posted a tweet stating that PS5 hardware will be compatible with all existing PS4 games. The tweet has since been deleted, but was archived over at ResetEra. “There’s been some confusion about this in the past and I can clear it up now,” wrote McDonald in the now-deleted tweet. “The PlayStation 5 can run all PlayStation 4 games without per-game whitelisting....
As part of today’s first look at the PS5 user interface, Sony revealed a number of key new features such as Cards, the ability to jump into multiplayer matches and game levels straight from the home screen, the new UI’s design and much more. The Resident Evil movie is set to release Labor Day weekend, which is September 3 in the US, according to Deadline. It was revealed back in October the Resident Evil film is a bit of a “reboot” with “faithful ties” to the game franchise and set in 1998 on a “fateful night” in Raccoon City. The film is being handled by writer-director Johannes Roberts. As reported by Deadline when the news broke, Kaya Scodelario (Maze Runner) will play Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) stars as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell (Upload) plays Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy) takes on the role of Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) portrays Leon Kennedy, Lily Gao (The Expanse) will play Ada Wong, Donal Logue (Sons of Anarchy) will play Chief Brian Irons, and Neal McDonough (Yellowstone) will star as William Birkin....
Resistance is a strange little aside that in one sense is clearly being included to appease those who might miss the inclusion of a ‘mercenaries’ style mode in RE3, which made its debut in the PS1 original. At the same time it’s something wholly new and original - a four-versus-one title that pits a team of players who play regular humans and survivors against the fifth player, the ‘mastermind’ that manages things from afar....
