There are probably a million and one cancelled games we’ll never hear about due to non-disclosure agreements and the like, but recently Avalanche Studios co-founder Christofer Sundberg, speaking to MinnMax, revealed that the studio was working on an Iron Man game that was unfortunately cancelled. According to Sundberg, Disney and Marvel came to the studio to inquire about an Iron Man game, which later began development that same year. But, according to Sundberg, Disney wanted to shorten the development time by a whole year, which given this industry’s history with delays, isn’t exactly the norm....

Check out the incredible launch trailer below. “Our community was extremely vocal about their desire for a physical edition from the moment we first announced the game,” said Ember Lab chief operations officer Josh Grier explained. “It’s an honor to create a game people want to add to their collections, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Maximum Games to make that happen so quickly after the initial launch.” The game will be available digitally first from September 21 on PS4, PS5 and PC (via Epic Games Store), then the physical versions will land in November....

Square Enix has announced Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, a rhythm-action game coming to PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One this year. Not much else is known about the game at present, but the official notice says Kingdom Hearts characters will be playable, and “depending on the stage,” Disney characters will appear as guests and “lend you their strength.” The game will also feature over 140 songs with music from Disney, the Kingdom Hearts series, and “more....

The video is in Japanese, but you still get an idea of what to expect, and it shows how lovely the game is going to be when it releases later this month. In it, you also get a look at the various NPCs, customization, and some battle scenes. Should Nintendo release an English version of the trailer, we will replace this video with it as soon as it drops. Originally thought to be an open-world game, the title will instead be in a similar vein to Monster Hunter, in that instead of running around the world doing whatever, the main village will serve as a base of operations....

Two screenshots seemingly originating from the next Battlefield game, which everyone is calling Battlefield 6 for now, have been leaked online over the weekend. The shots were first uploaded to a since-deleted Imgur album, and have since spawned countless other mirrors online. We won’t be embedding them in the story, but you can see them for yourself here and here. The shots appear to be screengrabs from a trailer, given their pixelated look....

Watch swordsman Sakamoto Ryoma defeat enemies with his samurai sword, trusty pistol, and new combat moves Gunman Style, Wild Dancer Style, Brawler Style and more. Announced back in September during a Sony State of Play presentation, Like a Dragon: Ishin is a remake of a Yakuza spin-off title previously unavailable in western markets. It takes place during the final years of the Edo period when the Tokugawa shogunate ended. In terms of story, it’s set in the 1860s and finds Kyo plagued by widespread inequality....

Matter of fact, it’s said the House of Mario will tease the game sometime this year. That’s according to Dr. Serkan Toto from consultancy firm Kantan Games which focuses on the Japanese industry. Speaking with GI.biz, Dr. Toto said that while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still selling very well, Mario Kart 9 is in “active development,” and “comes with a new twist.” Considering Mario Kart 8 initially came out on Wii U in 2014, a new title in the series being in development shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise - nor should a “new twist” be shocking to you....

Currently in early development at Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Wolverine is a standalone title starring everyone’s favorite adamantium-clawed mutant. Insomniac said it came up with the idea for a game starring the fella during brainstorming sessions when the team was discussing what to work on after Spider-Man was finished. Wolverine seemed to always come up as a character everyone would like to work on together, so a couple of years later, Insomniac pitched the game to Sony Interactive Entertainment and Marvel and here we are today....

Capcom has announced today that Monster Hunter Rise has shipped over 4 million copies globally since its release on March 26. Usually, Capcom’s figures include both physical shipments and direct digital sales to customers, but Capcom did not make this distinction today. Nevertheless, 4 million in three days is nothing to sneeze at. By comparison, Monster Hunter World shipped 5 million units when it released in January 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One....

According to Capcom, the game has now shipped over 7.5 million units worldwide. The new figure is up by 2.5 compared to the 5 million units shipped during its first week of availability, starting March 26. And that figure was up 1 millon from the previous sales milestone, which saw the game ship 4 million units in three days. Recently the winner of the Grand Award at the Japan Game Awards, the Switch title brings new monsters and locales to the series, and provides a fresh take on the hunting experience through a host of new actions such as the Wirebug and new hunting partners called Palamutes....

The Kamura Pack 1: Big Hit Celebration is being handed out as a gift to Monster Hunter Rise players who helped the game reach 5 million units shipped. Inside the pack, you will find 30 Mega Potions, 20 Well-done Steaks, 10 Large Barrel Bombs, five Mega Demondrugs, and five Mega Armorskins. This item pack is obtainable through the main game, but you will need to apply an update in order to claim the pack....

In the Monster Hunter universe, though, these furry companions are not called cats, they’re called Felynes; they’re small in stature (but big in personality), have an appearance similar to the domestic cats from our world, are fully sentient, bipedal, and speak our language. Once upon a time referred to as Felyne Comrades, these cute creatures have been called Palicoes since the 3DS’ Monster Hunter Generations. From the Meowscular Chef in Monster Hunter: World to the weirdly flirtatious version of the character that cropped up in the live-action film, these mascot characters have become integral to Monster Hunter’s world....

Capcom has detailed the patch notes for Monster Hunter World’s update 11.50.01, which is now live on PC. The patch does not add any new content, but addresses a couple of issues. First, some players have been running into problems when submitting photos through their Observation Log as part of the Lynian Researcher’s questline. This has now been fixed. Capcom also continues to make performance improvements and fix crashes when running the game in DirectX 12....

VG247: You’re releasing a Battle Royale, which is a super competitive genre with a lot of big games that already have their own in-depth playbases....

On Friday, Warzone developer Raven removed Most Wanted contracts from the game. When activated, Most Wanted contracts allow the player to put a target on themselves. If they successfully evade capture or killing in the indicated time, they can spawn back all of their dead teammates. Even without the immediate reward of bringing back your dead teammates, Most Wanted contracts have often been used as sort of an open challenge to the entire match....

Mystic Messenger now offers seven potential love interests. Zen, Yoosung and Jaehee are available in Casual mode, while Jumin and 707 are only available if you unlock Deep story with HG. V, the mysterious leader of RFA, and the enigmatic Ray, are only available in Another Story, which will set you back 300 HG. It’s fun to play Mystic Messenger organically, making responses naturally and seeing where it takes you - but there’s a lot to see, and since each playthrough takes 11 days unless you want to spend real money, you’ll want to set out to unlock everything with maximum efficiency....

You will then go on safari using a motorized buggy and take the best possible photographs of over 60 different Pokemon. You start with only a camera, but as you progress, Professor Oak provides you with the equipment to take better photographs....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare received a relatively big update yesterday on all platforms. As promised, the patch brought the infantry-only Ground War playlist, the Gunfight map Bazaar, and a new playlist with Rust, Shipment and Shoot House for a moshpit of chaos. The patch’s biggest change, however, was a tweak to how missions track. Or, more specifically, operator missions. Operator missions are the easiest to complete. They’re mainly designed for players to unlock some colour variants and a few other cosmetics for their operators....
