In an interview with Game Informer (via Comic Book), the studio’s general manager Dusty Welch and game director Chad Grenier spoke about the potential for crossplay in Apex Legends. While they stop short of revealing when or even if we will see console crossplay introduced, Welch does say it is “an important thing to get to.” “I think on crossplay we see it’s something that is kind of expected in the industry and is important to a game like ours,” says Welch....
In an interview with Eurogamer, Grenier revealed that Respawn is already planning for content up to Season 12 of Apex Legends, and that – in the future – the game may even go further than being a battle royale. “Right now we’re a battle royale game. I think if you look into the future, we have a lot of conversations of, you know, should we expand beyond battle royale?” Grenier says in the interview....

Also kicking off next week on the 11th and lasting until December 2 is the Oskoreia Festival which is the Norwegian version of The Wild Hunt. Larian Studios has issued another hotfix for Baldur’s Gate 3 along with a request to create more interesting characters. The game has a robust character creator with plenty of options to choose from, yet according to Larian, early access players aren’t creating very interesting characters. Using analytics, the team took the most popular choices in character creation and recreated a character based on the data received. Larian stated at first it thought analytics wasn’t working properly, but after checking, it was indeed working as intended....

Also today, Dice released a blog post that provides an in-depth explanation of the customization options and content available in Battlefield Portal, as well as a look into the Battlefield Builder tool. Sadly, this delayed start won’t push back the beta’s end time, unless the developer decides to extend it at the last minute. Riot dropped a new trailer for Brimstone, Valorant’s aggressive American. Brimstone is kind of the game’s Soldier: 76, and has a distinct look with his orange beret. Brimstone can fire off a Stim Beacon that creates an area buff that grants everyone a fire rate increase. His Q ability is essentially molotov, an incdinary grenade that covers the area in fire. His E ability is a smoke strike that lets Brimstone carpet entire areas in smoke....
After telling players not to expect any major balance tweaks until December, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War co-developer Treyarch has gone ahead and made the one balance change most have been clamouring for. That, of course, is a nerf to the MP5 SMG, or Submachine Gun Alpha as it’s known in game. As for what those tweaks actually entail, Treyarch said the MP5’s base effective damage range has been cut by 33%, which should bring it more in line with other SMGs....

Infinity Ward rolled out a big new update for Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare. As is custom, this is another massive download at around 30GB. The update adds the two previously announced maps to multiplayer: Hardhat for 6v6, and Aisle 9 for 2v2 and 3v3. In Warzone, traditional Solos return alongside new playlists for Quads, and Blood Money Quads. The new Armor Box, which refills the entire team’s armour, has replaced the shield turret on the Buy Station menu....
