The original Detective Pikachu game for 3DS, the inspiration behind the 2019 film of the same name, was announced to be receiving a sequel for Switch shortly after the film came out. And then we just… have not heard a single thing about the sequel since. But an eagle-eyed user on Famiboards noticed a mention of the game on developer Johnathon Murphy’s LinkedIn page which suggests the game might not be too far off....
According to those who saw the post before the edit, the blog mentioned the PS1 and PSP classics would be available for the Premium tier later this month, alongside other titles. Either the blog posted the news early, or it got the dates mixed up (thanks, Push Square). This isn’t the first we’ve heard of Dino Crisis coming to the PlayStation Plus Classics catalog. Back in May, an image of the game’s protagonist was posted to the PlayStation Plus storefront in Asia....
Both Dirt 5 and NBA 2K21 are free to play this weekend on Steam. Dirt 5 finds you going off-road to race around various routes around the world, covering gravel, ice, snow, and sand. There are plenty of vehicles to choose from ranging from cars to trucks, to GT heroes. The game features a Career, four-player split-screen, online modes, livery editor, and more new features. With all of the announcements in yesterday’s Xbox Series X-focused Inside Xbox, one neat detail about Dirt 5 - which was revealed on the show - almost went unnoticed. Following the trailer deluge, Microsoft hosted brief chats with a number of developers whose games featured on the show. One of these was with Robert Karp, development director on Dirt 5. Towards the end of the interview, Karp confirmed that Dirt 5 will run at 4K 60fps on Xbox Series X, and also offer a 120fps mode - presumably at a lower resolution....

As per Microsoft, Dolby Vision can support dynamic metadeta, meaning users will expereince “brighter highlights, sharper contrast, and more vibrant colors” when the feature is enabled....
During a private Q&A that followed on from the company’s financial results briefing earlier today, Nintendo has formally stated that we won’t be seeing any sort of upgraded Nintendo Switch hardware in the coming 12 months. As per Bloomberg reporter Takashi Mochizuki, who was present at the briefing, the company is “not planning to make an announcement anytime soon” when it comes to new devices. This was echoed by industry analyst David Gibson who said that Nintendo noted there is “no new model plan" beyond the red and blue Mario Switch and the Monster Hunter Rise Switch we’ve already heard about....
The success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been something Activision was very keen to point out during last night’s Q4 FY2019 earnings call reveal. On the sales end, Modern Warfare has sold more copies in Q4 than Black Ops 4, a “double-digit percentage” increase on PC and consoles combined. Battle.net sales specifically grew by 50% compared to Black Ops 4, which is another significant milestone for a series that has traditionally under-performed on PC....

EVO Organisers have revealed the new, online-only version of the long running event. EVO Online is a five-weekend tournament with its own roster of games alongside many of the games in the original line-up. The biggest notable exception is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which was likely axed due to its poor netcode. Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7, Soulcalibur 6, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Samurai Shodown, Under Night In-Birth, and Granblue Fantasy Versus all remain....

Fallout 76’s big update 20 drops in just a couple of hours, bringing the game’s first Battle Pass and kicking off The Legendary Run season. But there’s another major feature arriving today with update 20, and it’s public teams. This feature essentially allows players to browse a list of other players looking to team up. The in-game Social menu will now display all of these LFG requests, and players will be able to set a team goal to make it easier to find like-minded players....
First up though is Farming Simulator 19 on the Epic Games Store. The sim game tasks you with driving really cool farm machinery and harvesting crops. You can even tend to animals on your farm and ride a horse. Next week on February 6, three games will be made available for free until February 13. EA has banned the FIFA account of Kurt Fenech, a professional player, and streamer of FIFA 20 competitions. According to the ban, he is no longer allowed to access online modes in any EA games. The company previously banned Fenech from FIFA 20 competitions due to what it deemed offensive behavior, but it has now extended the ban to all of its games. It’s said the last straw was him spitting on the EA logo during a stream, as Eurogamer Poland reports....
Since then, the legend of Final Fantasy 7 has only expanded: with spin-offs, sequels, movies, and animated features. Its characters have appeared in countless other games, and of course FF7 remains the high watermark for success for the entire Final Fantasy series.
