Devotion, the Taiwanese horror game which has had a rough go of it since its release, is finally back on sale. Instead of going with Steam or any other distribution platform, developer Red Candle simply made it available on its own store. The store has Devotion listed for $17, or $20.68 with the soundtrack, all DRM-free. Red Candle’s previous game, Detention, can also be purchased at the same store, and there’s even a bundle with both games and their soundtracks for $33....

Set in war-town Tsushima, you play the role of samurai Jin Sakai as you slash your way through the invading Mongol army. It’s one of the best-looking games on the PlayStation 4 and looks even better on the PlayStation 5 thanks to a smooth 60fps upgrade. Originally a single-player game, Ghost of Tsushima can now be played online with your friends thanks to a free patch that adds two-player story missions and a four-player survival mode to the game....

In development at Nacon Studio Milan, the as-of-yet untitled open-world game is set between Judgment Day and John Connor’s resistance timelines. Because the game is early in development, not much else is known about it, but you can get a glimpse of the team’s take on the scary cyborg in the video above. The Terminator became a franchise after James Cameron’s original film debuted in 1984 and became a hit, earning over $78 million worldwide....

Resident Evil is one of the first games I remember, and the countless late nights I had binging horror movies with my dad have granted me an affectionate affinity towards horror as a genre. I’ve also realised that I don’t particularly like being scared, but I do really admire how horror games can make you feel so much at once when they’re done right. I also think monsters and aliens are kinda cool – and that’s why horror games, in particular, rule: they can combine all of the above in an interactive, entertaining way....

While it might be tempting to use Nahida as a setup for someone else’s reactions, she shines best on her own, with a bit of help. Ubisoft has surprise-revealed a new game set in The Division universe today. The Division: Heartland is a free-to-play survival shooter, coming to PC and consoles in 2021-2022. Heartland is a standalone game that takes place in a new setting, providing a new perspective on the world. You can sign up for early tests at the link. Development is being led by Red Storm Entertainment, a studio with close ties to the Tom Clancy licenses, who has also worked on The Division and The Division 2....

Ubisoft has released a trailer showing off The Division 2 Episode 3. The DLC launches in February, and it’s adding New York’s Coney Island as a new location. It will be comprised of two main missions. The new location comes alongside The Cleaners, an enemy from the first game. As we previously told you, access to two Classified Agents will be included for Year 1 Pass owners. It also comes with a new Specialization and Exotic weapon: The Kameleon....

The show will once again bring together some of the biggest names in gaming and popular culture. During the show, you can expect the usual reward to be handed out, first-look world premieres, and new game announcements. “We are very excited to return to the Microsoft Theater for a special night to celebrate the past, present, and future of video games,” said Geoff Keighley, creator, executive producer, and host of The Game Awards....

According to a press release from the publisher, the SAW and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre universes collide to become part of The Haunting of Verdansk, a limited-time community event which runs from October 20 to November 3. The Haunting of Verdansk will introduce a new “Trick or Treat” reward system to the game for the duration of the event, which contains “frights” or “frighteningly good blueprints and personalization items”. These boxes full of loot will be found in specific areas in the Verdansk map, and will contain items such as the Epic “Return to Dust” Assault Rifle blueprint, “The Cleaver” Legendary Melee blueprint, a holographic watch, charms, stickers, sprays, calling cards and emblems....

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will have you using stealth to make it past enemies and makes use of verticle climbing and parkour - similar to Prince of Persia, according to an IGN interview with Daedalic Entertainment. While mostly a non-combat game, you will be able to stealthily take out enemies, but it comes with risks as his strength comes from “cunning not combat.” To do this you will be using things that can be thrown, and special abilities....

If you’re playing through Bloober Team’s atmospheric horror game, The Medium, you’ll know it has many puzzles. These puzzles ramp up towards the end of the game, with a tricky door code to work out and a more complex water tanks puzzle that’s set in a pump station. We’ve got the solution that will allow Marianne to make it through the pump station, clearing the stairways that were flooded and opening the impassable door....

The social media accounts for the brand have been updated to suit the new name, as the company had previously warned would happen. The Twitter bio for ‘Meta Quest’ now sports a hateful ’new handle, who dis?’ description, and the name change was kicked off with a simply horrible Meta-isnpired take on an old meme (below) that attracted the ire of many gamers. A simple glimpse at the replies shows you how well (ahem) it’s all gone....

For just $13 you get Game of the Year Edition, which includes all the downloadable content and both expansion packs that were released for The Witcher 3. Ahead of the second season of The Witcher Netflix series airing next year, Netflix has shared the first page of the Season Two script as a ‘Witchmas’ present for fans. During gamescom Opening Night Live, Strictly Limited Games and Factor 5 will make an announcement and show off a trailer for Turrican, which was originally released in 1990. Whether it is a remaster, re-release, or a new game in the run and gun series is not known, as further information will be revealed at that time. Update: Following the publication of this story, EA has gotten in touch to say that the report isn’t accurate. In a statement to VG247, the publisher said it’s not looking to bring TV-like ads to its console games. “Following incorrect reports suggesting that we are looking to introduce ‘TV-style’ commercials into our games, we wanted to clarify that in-game advertising for console games is not something we’re currently looking at, or have signed any agreements to implement,” an EA spokesperson said....
