To find out, we talked with Redbull’s Jukeyz ahead of the public launch of Warzone 2.0 for his thoughts. Having played the map long before much of the public, they’d come to an early and informed conclusion of the map. Their conclusion is that it’s good, and his type of map. “I never want to be in a forest again. I like the buildings and windows you can jump through, staircases, buildings you can climb to the top of,” states Jukeyz....

With their latest big project coming to its conclusion, I sat down with product director Matt Casey and senior game designer Tim Fletcher to talk about the future of RuneScape post the Elder God Wars, their narrative aspirations for the IP, and RuneScape’s future outside of the MMO. How has the community received these quests in comparison to some of the non-narrative updates in recent months/years? M: If you look at the last year, we’ve seen more buzz from the community....

In a tweet shared by “game director/chief producer” of the fighting game series himself, Katsuhiro Harada, we see the world of The Lands Between invade the King Of Iron Fist Tournament 7 with a ludicrous mod that even brings Torrent into the melee. Frederik Schreiber, 3D Realms vice president, revealed on Twitter that the studio, along with Slipgate, were in talks with Fox to develop a four-player co-op, PvE game based on the Alien series. The game was called Aliens: Hadley’s Hope, and was in pre-production before Disney acquired 21st Century Fox and the project was cancelled. Schreiber shared a brief look at the game’s official pitch on Twitter. “A misfitting mix of colonists and marines fight together for their lives against a protective alien queen who’s willing to do whatever it takes to safeguard her eggs,” the pitch reads....

Modder Vect0R uploaded the fruits of their labour to YouTube, showing the improvements made since Half-Life 2’s original Source engine from 2004. The mod, which is currently a showcase demo that isn’t available to the public, has been in the works only since March 24. “I took the original map file and converted to Source 2 format and added to Half-Life: Alyx. In [the] process, I converted assets of Half-Life 2 to Half-Life: Alyx as well....

The vote was put to shareholders during a special meeting of Stockholders held earlier today, and over 98% voted in favor of the proposed transaction. On January 18, 2022, Microsoft announced plans to acquire Activision Blizzard for $95 per share in an all-cash transaction. Subject to customary closing conditions and the completion of regulatory review, the proposed transaction is expected to close in Microsoft’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2023....

There have been multiple stories surrounding the impressively huge file size for Call of Duty Warzone, and Activision is about to shrink it down with a new update. Season 2 Reloaded lands in the game on March 30, and alongside introducing a slew of new features to the game, the developer and publisher have somehow managed to crunch the file size down to a much smaller number. “Season Two Reloaded also brings great news of a lower, optimized file size across Warzone,” says a press release....

For the second quarter, the company reported revenue of $1.64 billion, a year-over-year (yoy) decline compared to $2.30 billion reported during Q2 2021. That said, segment revenue and operating income grew versus the first quarter of the current fiscal year due to gameplay improvements and seasonal content made available across Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone. On October 28 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, in development with Infinity Ward, will be released....

This milestone was revealed following an eruption in popularity in 2021, thanks in large part to a portion of Twitch’s most popular streamers jumping into the game as well as Rust finally launching on consoles. The influx of new interest that came as a result helped achieve record player counts for the game, peaking at 267,211 concurrent on Steam. It will see the addition of the Italian and Maltese civilizations along with a wealth of new content including the casual friendly Tycoon Game Mode and Diplomacy Mode. The content adds the first-ever set of Historical Maps, of which there will be eight, nine new minor civilizations, and 30 random maps. As far as the civilizations are concerned, the Maltese will be able to create unique fortifications, use Fixed Guns, can fight at sea with Order Galleys, use Arbalesters, and more....

The remaster, which will include the base game and the two expansions, The Signal and The Writer, will be published by Epic Games and releases on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC sometime this fall....

As reported by Eurogamer, the glitch only seems to happen in the cafe, and this has apparently been going on since the DLC launched on November 5. Creating an island full of spiders, or more specifically a tarantula island, is rapidly turning out to be one of the most useful ways to make a whole bundle of cash.
