According to the latest digital sales report from SuperData, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold around 5 million copies since it was released on March 20. The market analyst states that’s more copies sold in a single month for any consoles game “in history,” breaking the previous record held by Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Sales of the simulation title also roughly matched digital sales of Super Smash Bros....

A recent trademark filing (now removed) that popped up at the European Union Intellectual Property Office seemed to tease a new showcase coming from Elden Ring, Tekken, and Tales Of publisher, Bandai Namco. The trademark was filed on December 29 and was approved towards the end of January, and covers something called “Bandai Namco Next.” Seemingly keen to protect its back, Bandai Namco ensured the trademark filing covered products and services including amusement parks, esports competitions, movies, toys, computer networks, online publications, animated feature films, and games....
Ghost of Tsushima developer Sucker Punch shared an interesting anecdote about the beginning of the journey that eventually lead to the team exploring that setting. In a blog post celebrating the launch, the developer revealed that once it was done working on Infamous: Second Son and its DLC, the studio started fielding ideas for its next project. Sucker Punch knew it was done with Infamous, for now at least, so all pitches were welcome....
My love of Halo Infinite is split pretty evenly between its campaign and its multiplayer, which has come as a massive surprise. I figured that after experimenting back and forth with various formats in Halo 4 and 5, 343 would stick the landing with Infinite. What’s surprised me is just how well they managed that - and how excellent the campaign is. As I said in my review - much to the anger of some who don’t understand that five stars doesn’t mean perfection (it means, exceptional, must-play) - Halo Infinite’s campaign isn’t perfect....
But at the start of the game, it’s tough to know what’s the most useful and what to prioritise. However, it’s worth noting that you get skill points for completing quests as well as leveling up. This means by the end of your journey in the Forbidden West, you will have unlocked most, if not all, of the skills and abilities on Aloy’s skill trees. Therefore, don’t agonise too hard over which nodes to pick or worry about wasting points....
As previously rumored, and now confirmed, Bethesda and Xbox will host a Developer Direct presentation on January 25. This showcase will feature updates on The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall. During the showcase, Elder Scrolls Online studio director Matt Firor will unveil 2023’s major Chapter update, which will include the latest regions of Tamriel to become playable. The Mercenary Loadout offers a combination of perks that can be unlocked in-game, but with the DLC you can start the game already set up....
Publisher Nacon and developer Cyanide have announced that any players that pre-order the game will be able to access the beta when it launches in early 2021. Currently, it seems to be only PC players that will get to demo the game early – the official blog post notes that players who pre-order Blood Bowl: Second Season Edition will get sent a Steam code to get into the Blood Bowl 3 closed beta “as soon as it opens in early 2021”....

The line added to the company’s 8-K filing claims that no discussions took place regarding Kotick’s employment arrangements before the negotiations of the merger took place. “No discussions or negotiations regarding post-closing employment arrangements with Microsoft occurred between Microsoft and Mr Kotick prior to the approval and the execution of the merger agreement and the transactions contemplated thereby, or have occurred subsequent to such approval and execution, through the date hereof,” reads the line....
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is doing what the vast majority of shooters do not: offer an FOV slider on consoles. This is one of several changes made based on alpha feedback, and will be available in the game’s beta and beyond. An FOV slider, for those unfamiliar, allows the player to widen their peripheral vision. A wider FOV means you get to see more around the edges of the screen, but makes targets at a distance smaller, and the opposite is true for narrow fields of view....
That’s according to an open letter discussing the Activision Blizzard acquisition penned by Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer. “Subscription services like Game Pass make gaming more affordable and help players from all over the world find their next favorite game,” said Spencer. “Game Pass empowers developers to bring more games to more players, not fewer. “We intend to make Activision Blizzard’s much-loved library of games – including Overwatch, Diablo, and Call of Duty – available in Game Pass and to grow those gaming communities....
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 5 Reloaded kicks off at 7am BST on August 25, while the official Games of Summer event begins three days later on August 28 at 6pm BST/1pm ET/10am PT. The occasion will see players from all over the world represent their country in a variety of Trials, which allow them to earn medals for the country they’re representing. There are five Trials overall and they will be available for both Modern Warfare and free-to-play Warzone players....
