Following the big news that Cyberpunk 2077 has been pushed back to September, CD Projekt decided to host a brief press conference to discuss the delay and take some questions. Unsurprisingly, one of those was about the game’s elusive multiplayer component. What started out as concept exploration later entered into full development. In the Q&A, board member Michal Nowakowski revealed that the AAA project CD Projekt Red has been working on alongside Cyberpunk 2077 is indeed the multiplayer mode....

One of Doom 2016’s most defining aspects was its commitment to 60fps gameplay, and this will also be the case for Doom Eternal. Billy Khan, id Tech lead engine programmer, confirmed this on Twitter over the weekend. Khan listed PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X as all running at that framerate target. Even back in February, we heard that Epic Games plans to continue attracting game developers and publishers to its PC platform by offering them exclusive deals. This revelation followed on from statistics the company revealed that it had grown its userbase by millions over the course of 2020, but revenue had remained consistently flat. As reported by PC Gamer over the weekend, we’ve learned that a lot of the company’s money was sunk into ensuring exclusivity deals in 2020 – to the tune of around $444 million....

The PlayStation 5 is landing with a long list of features, but one of the aspects being praised ahead of the console’s launch is the nifty new DualSense controller. One of the key features of the DualSense sees it use haptic feedback to make precise and nuanced vibration. It’s a new tool for developers to communicate to players and one that has a promising future. One such use will be how it’s being utilised in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War....

Due to some of the constraints from working at home because of COVID-19, the team needs extra time to bring Evil Genius 2 to the masses. According to Rebellion, the team wants to deliver a sequel that will “do justice” to the franchise, and be loved and played by the community for years to come. “One of the things we most prize about Rebellion is our independence, which allows us the freedom to do what’s right for our games, and our staff,” reads the notice....

Originally slated for release in 2020 before suffering a delay, Evil Genius 2: Word Domination will now be released on March 30. Developed and published by Rebellion, the game allows you to be the bad guy, and build your very own secret island lair. You will also be able to recruit and train minions and henchmen, which sounds pretty fun. Defending your base from the Forces of Justice is something you will also have to do as you strive toward your goal of world domination....
