Patch 1.23 for Cyberpunk 2077 is live on PC, consoles, and Stadia. It covers all sorts of things from quests to stability and performance. There are plenty of fixes for The Heist quest, and a few gameplay bugs have been thwarted. Now, bodies will no longer get stuck in a car after killing the NPC and stealing their car. Who wants to ride around with a dead body, right? An issue where dropping an NPC’s body caused too much destruction has been fixed, and Cataresist cyberware should now work properly....

Once they go live, you’ll be able to set your sights on specific challenges and level them up all the way from Iron to Master ranks, with a certain portion having progression all the way up to Challenger. Mafia: Definitive Edition reviews have gone live ahead of the game’s release this week on September 25. In the game, you live the life of a gangster named Tommy Angelo and go on a journey through Lost Heaven’s criminal underworld. The Mass Effect games might have the ability to play as a male or female version of lead protagonist Commander Shepard, but they’ve always had something of a gender imbalance. BioWare aims to at least partially fix that in Mass Effect: Legendary Collection, the remastered trilogy package of all three Shepard games. As part of the general changes to the games, the ‘iconic’ version of Female Shepard as introduced in Mass Effect 3 will now be available as the ‘default’ Shepard in both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2....

Metro Redux is a double game collection that includes the definitive editions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, including all DLC content on a 16GB cart. Developed in-house by 4A Games, those who pre-order a physical edition will receive the Ranger Cache pre-order pack. Earlier this week, Resetera user Almalexia shared a screenshot of an apparent Spanish survey from Microsoft asking about Xbox’s Game Pass service (as spotted by Windows Central). The survey seems to be looking to gather feedback on a cheaper tier that costs €3 a month, but with some caveats of course. One of these would potentially be the inclusion of ads when you boot up a game prior to being able to play....

Project xCloud Preview will expand to 11 new countries in Europe for Android, and you can sign up from today. Registration is now open in these preview markets, and Microsoft is asking players across Western Europe who want to participate in Preview to sign up. Once testing is ready to begin, you will receive a notification email with further instructions. The preview will be available to a limited number at first, with more folks added over time....

Everyone loves Microsoft Flight Simulator – we’ve established that already – but not everyone loved the gargantuan size of the game’s download files on their PCs. Before today, getting the game and its various packs installed on your rig would cost you the better part of 170GB – but a new update has almost chapped that in half. As spotted by the folks at PC Gamer, the initial download on Steam will now only hit you for 81GB, a whopping 89GB less than it was before this update (also known as Sim Update 4, or patch 1....

It was confirmed overnight that Microsoft Flight Simulator would support VR, but it will not come to headsets other than the HP Reverb G2 until a later date. Microsoft’s head of Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann told Eurogamer it will come to other VR headsets, all the common ones, but there is still “work to be done for some of the others…it’s just going to take a few more months after that....

Xbox director of accessibility Anita Mortaloni has announced that Xbox is in the process of adding accessibility tags to its digital store. The aim of the new tags is to allow players with disabilities will to more simply and clearly know if a game has settings that make it possible for them to know which games they can play. In a post over on Xbox Wire, Mortaloni kicked off a month-long celebration of accesible gaming over at Xbox with the news that the new ‘Accessibility’ tab in the Store’s Details section will be coming soon....

Gears 5 released as a showcase title for the Xbox platforms. It’s a superb looking game on all versions of the Xbox One (being a remarkable achievement on the original hardware), and thanks to a handful of upgrades it’s also able to hold its own on the Xbox Series X. Pretty impressive for a game designed around a console released in 2013. The new Gears 5 Hivebusters DLC, which is free with Game Pass Ultimate and offers a new mini-campaign, looks incredible....
