According to a press release received by VG247, the event will last for approximately 20 minutes and will focus on upcoming indie games for Nintendo Switch. You can tune in to tomorrow’s showcase at the video embedded below. It’s due to kick off at 9am PT/12pm ET/5pm BST. Meanwhile, a rumour about Suda51’s Killer7 coming to Switch was recently debunked, leaving fans sorely disappointed after having their hopes dashed. Although Suda51 has said that he wants all of his games to make it to Switch, a spokesperson for the team working on the PC version of Killer7 said that there are currently no plans for a Switch port. Nintendo has been enjoying massive success recently - just last week, Animal Crossing resumed its position as top dog on the bestselling charts, while Nintendo had another five of its titles in the top 10. As of less than two weeks ago, Animal Crossing had sold an immense 22.4 million copies worldwide, meaning that it’s rapidly gaining ground on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s 26.74 million. The same report mentioned that the Switch itself has now sold a whopping 61.44 million units. For the three months ending June 30, 2020 alone, 5.67 million consoles were moved - something that’s particularly interesting when you consider it in relation to Nintendo’s competitors, especially given that Xbox has stated that it is no longer concerned with selling more consoles than Sony or Nintendo. If you’re not caught up with all things Nintendo yet, you can check out the Nintendo Direct from July at the link, which focused on third-party titles coming to Switch in the near future.
