While the release date already leaked yesterday, we’ve got official confirmation now that Valhalla is due to launch this November. On top of confirming the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla release date, Ubisoft Forward offered viewers a look at fresh Valhalla gameplay, as well as brand new trailers for Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs Legion, and more. Fans are very excited about the new Battlefield game. So excited, in fact, that EA has increased the server capacity for Battlefield 4 due to an influx of players following the Battlefield 2042 reveal. But despite a pretty thorough showing-off of various game modes and content coming to the cross-gen game when it launches in October being shown back at E3 2021, fans are still eager to learn about one mode that’s listed as ‘redacted’ on the game’s website....

Battlefield 2042’s second major experience has been revealed as Battlefield Portal, a suite of creation tools, and a browser for all sorts of community-created and official mods. At a preview event ahead of EA Play Live, developer Ripple Effect detailed so much of what Battlefield Builder is. For starters, Builder is available for free to anyone on the web. It works in any web browser, and gives you access to a wide set of tools to create game modes and modify rules as you like....

As you can see from the tweet embedded below, it appears a repeated Japanese phrase in the image suggests ‘Vanguard incoming’ – which definitely feels like a hint from the developers pointing towards the next Call of Duty title....

Despite not showing any new Diablo 4 footage since the game was announced at BlizzCon 2019, Blizzard has quietly been toiling away and releasing updates to fans. The developer has been revealing more about the game’s design on a quarterly basis in blog posts, outlining nitty-gritty details like progression and in-game systems. According to a development update on the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter page, the code that was created early in the game’s development isn’t compatible with roguelike gameplay especially the procedurally generated castle (thanks, Eurogamer). One of the game’s stretch goals, the $5 million one, will instead be replaced by a randomizer. How it will work, is it will be the “story campaign [players] are used to, but with a twist....

Destiny 2 maker Bungie is trying to make players want to visit The Moon and Dreaming City areas once again. In an update on its website, the studio said that it was reissuing the Reverie Dawn and Moon Dreambane armour for the Dreaming City. These apparently drop with high stats when earnt in Shattered Throne or Pit of Heresy. Furthermore, the final chest in Pit of Heresy won’t drop the Masterworked Dreambane armor piece anymore....

The multiplayer alpha for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will last for the weekend. Everyone who owns a PS4 can get in on it, and pre-loading is available from today. The game will be released on November 13 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and at launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X. The announcement was made today during the PS5 Showcase where Sony also announced the price and launch date for PS5....

Last year, Activision announced via a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare story trailer that PlayStation players would get a timed-exclusive mode in the game: Survival Mode. From October 1st, though, Xbox and PC players will finally be able to play Survival Mode from the game’s Spec Ops menu. Survival is basically a co-operative take on the Horde Mode you may see in other games. Four players defend against waves of enemies that increase in threat level and number as time goes on....

We may have some preliminary answers on at least one of those issues now, a week after the initial acquisition press release was shared. A new report from Bloomberg claims Sony and Activision had already made contractual agreements to release “at least” the next three Call of Duty games on PlayStation, and Microsoft will have to honour that, takeover or not. Last week, we heard Sony issue a statement saying it expects Microsoft to honour existing “contractual agreements” with PlayStation, and this is no doubt what it’s referring to....

When Resident Evil Village was first unveiled in June, Capcom said it would share more details in August. Unfortunately, August didn’t bring us any Resident Evil Village news. Capcom has apologised for missing August, and promised to reveal some news at TGS Online later this month, as part of its own live show. Capcom is hosting two three-hour shows on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27. The two livestreams will kick off at 5am PT, 8am ET, 1pm UK....

In a follow-up email and press release, Capcom has also confirmed that the title will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game – which is a brand new and original IP - is definitely not a news Dino Crisis… despite the fact it features both dinosaurs and a crisis in a city. It’s due to launch in 2023, per a post on the PlayStation Blog. Given the text in the trailer referring to PlayStation Plus, it stands to reason that we’ll be able to play online with friends in co-op to try and repel the jurassic invasion....
