Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is the original Xenoblade Chronicles game, released to Wii in 2010, with a new epilogue story, Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected. Nintendo promises this definitive edition of the RPG also looks better and plays smoother than ever before. According to the company, the battle HUD and menu screens are easier to read and use, and some of the music tracks have been remastered or remixed. It is set for release on May 29....

The news comes from Nova Crystallis, who in turn is reporting on a staff interview published by Famitsu from earlier this week. According to Bloomberg, the games were taken off Nvidia GeForce Now due to a request from Activision Blizzard. Apparently, the two companies never signed a formal commercial agreement for the games to be available on the service (thanks, resetera). Nvidia said it was all a “misunderstanding” as it thought Activision’s participation in the service’s beta extended to the current trial period for founding members. “Activision Blizzard has been a fantastic partner during the GeForce Now beta, which we took to include the free trial period for our founders membership,” said Nvidia....

Nintendo has updated the sales figures of the Switch and the console’s biggest game. As part of the company’s Q1 earnings for FY2021, Nintendo revealed strong sales for most first-party games, as well as the Switch itself. As of June 30, the Switch has now sold 61.44 million units worldwide. For the three months period ending June 30, 5.67 million Switch consoles were sold, with an almost even split between Lite and the standard model....

Nintendo is hosting a new Direct presentation tomorrow, February 20 that’s entirely dedicated to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The 25-minute stream will bring an “in-depth” look at the game. It kicks off at 6am PT, 9am ET, 2pm UK on Nintendo’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter channels. We’ll bring you the livestream embeds as soon as they’re available. Despite having been announced in 2018, New Horizons remains a bit mysterious. We’re slowly finding out more about the game, such as the fact players will only be allowed to create one island per Switch console....

Titled Arcane, the animated League of Legends series event is slated to premiere on Netflix worldwide this fall. Dominique Bazay, director, original animation for Netflix said: “League of Legends has inspired global fervor and fandom and we’re thrilled to be the home of the first television series set in this universe, Arcane. The series promises to be a visually spectacular thrill ride that will have viewers on the edge of their seats....

“We’re thrilled to have Anthony Mackie on board. His ability to blend comedy, action and drama is perfect for the Twisted world we’re creating,” Asad Qizilbash, head of PlayStation Productions, said. Mackie will be playing John Doe, an amnesiac character that first appeared in 2001’s Twisted Metal Black. The backstory seems to be much the same as the game, with John joining in the vehicular combat for an opportunity to remember who he is....

Ubisoft has announced details of a new free weekend for Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, the free weekend gives you access to the full game, and your progress will carry over to the main thing should you buy it. The free weekend is available beginning Thursday, March 19 and until Sunday, March 22. It kicks off at 12am PT, 3am ET, 7am UK on PS4/Xbox One, and four hours later on PC....
