I love video games. I’ve loved them for as long as I can remember. As someone who is turning 40 this year, it’s hard to believe I’ve been playing these things for over 30 years. I was doing some tidying around the house the other day and found my old copy of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Mega Drive. Just a glimpse of the black case made me strangely saudade (I had to look that one up), reminiscing about a time when things were simpler and I was… simpler....

In terms of information that has been confirmed, the London City Police has come forward and announced an arrest has been made in Oxfordshire as part of an ivnestigation by the NCA UK’s National Cyber Crime Unit. Currently in police custody, there is currently no confirmation made by the police whether they were arrested for the GTA 6 hack, although according to journalist Matthew keys an additional statement by the London City Police will be released later today....

Here’s a look at all the overdrive moves in the game. For those of you not in the know, overdrives are a character’s signature move, These are what you’ll use to devastate your opponent in battle. They are flashy, cinematic, and can do major damage once your tension bar is full. You might have noticed there are two new characters to play since the first beta, I-No and Anji Mito....

Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive have announced that A Plague Tale: Innocence will come to Xbox Series X/S on July 6. This enhanced version will feature 4K UHD (only on Xbox Series X), 60 FPS, and 3D audio support. The upgrade is free for Xbox One owners of the game. The enhanced PS5 version is also expected in July. A cloud version of the game is also coming to Nintendo Switch....

However, fast-forward a few months and Bloodhunt is teetering perilously close to a similar fate. Thanks to consistent bugs, a perceived lack of content, and other troubles, player interest is waning. In an attempt to get things back on track, a substantial summer update has been announced today which aims to fix these issues and get things back on track. But can Sharkmob succeed? Whether these are current-gen titles or new PS5 games remains to be seen, but it was at least confirmed that a whole “slate” of PlayStation games are all set to be shown on June 4. The information comes from Twitter, where Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb shared a schedule for upcoming game events including the Inside Xbox reveal and Unreal Engine 5 tech demo on PS5. Valheim has a command console where you can enter codes to remove your beard, spawn items, and almost anything you can imagine. These range from little quality-of-life improvements to full-on invulnerable god mode. There are just a couple of caveats attached to using console commands to cheat in Valheim. First off and as always, we can’t guarantee that using cheats to alter your game won’t cause issues with your save....

Available now for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition players, the new world comes with two game modes, and a gaggle of extra goodies. Developed by Oreville Studios, the DLC features the famous birds once again trying to stop the pigs from whatever nefarious scheme they have concocted. You can play the adventure in Classic Mode which allows you to fling birds from a giant slingshot to take down piggy towers, just like in the original Angry Birds games....

Visiting far-flung locales with the Kapp’n not only lets you listen to one of his rousing sea shanties on the journey there, but gives you access to a host of difficult to access content that would otherwise be tempting you to time travel. How do you visit the Kapp’n’s islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Heading off on a trip with Kapp’n is simple. Just head down to your island’s pier and you should find him there with his trusty dingy....

The first is street cred, and access to the defacto endgame of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Originally, Tom Nook tasks you to make your island as appealing to visitors as possible. So once you build your campsite at the beginning of Operation K, the metagame of building up your star rating really starts....

The Battle Armor event for Apex Legends sees the rotation of armor type change every few days, starting on April 28. How it works is every three to four days, depending, only one armor type will be available during a match. You will drop into a match with the armor type equipped and with a P2020. All armor will be removed from the loot pool. Loot, shield cells and batteries will still be available, just not armor....

Apex Legends players can participate in the Grand Soiree Arcade Event starting January 14. The event will feature new game modes every two days, will include a prize track, rewards, and an event shop featuring Art Deco-inspired cosmetics and outfits. There will be seven rotating limited-time modes, some of which will be familiar like Armed and Dangerous. Others such as Dummie’s Big Day will be new. Respawn has also overhauled the rewards with a new prize track system that provides everyone with more rewards and more ways to earn....

For Apex Legends lore fans, the sight of Loba - a talented and infamously-proportioned thief - partnering up with the murderous simulacrum that killed her parents is a bit weird. Especially when Revenant, that simulacrum, taunts Loba, reminding her how much he enjoyed said murder, in the middle of a firefight with an enemy team. This is an odd and unintended side-effect of the lore of Apex Legends. At launch, all we knew was that these battles took place in the same universe as Titanfall....

One of the biggest reveals at The Game Awards last week was that FromSoftware is finally making a new Armored Core, officially called Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon (presumably unrelated to the fruit juice drink). In classic FromSoft fashion, the reveal trailer was just a mysterious cinematic that didn’t really tell us all that much. Thankfully, a recent interview between Miyazaki, Yamamura, and IGN has given us our first details on what we can expect from this sequel....

Assassin’s Creed: Origins will be available to play completely free on PC starting tomorrow, June 19. The free weekend is only on Uplay, and will be live until Sunday, June 21. The pre-load is available now, so you better get started if you want to put some time in this weekend. As always, you’re grabbing the full version of the game, so expect a hefty download. Any progress you make in the trial will carry over to the full game when you buy it....

We’ve only got a very brief teaser for the game at the time of writing, and the title is still a while off yet (the next game in the series will be the aforementioned Mirage), but hey – at least we know it’s coming. Ubisoft refers to this title as “The future of our open world flagship RPG series”, which seems to reference the fact that Mirage will be a more ‘classic’ Assassin’s experience that leans on stealth and parkour more than it does damage numbers and massive worlds....

During this story arc, Eivor leaves their body for a vision of Asgard, taking the form of Havi, king of the Norse Gods. Havi means “High One” and is one of the many names of Odin, the Allfather at the top of the Nordic mythological pantheon. In the Well-Traveled quest, Odin and the god of war and justice, Tyr, travel to the sacred Well of Urdr to collect its holy water for The Builder, who promises to create a device to protect Asgard from the invading Jotnar from Jotunheim....

Tunnels of Terror drops Tuesday, April 12 on all platforms. The expansion will be available as part of the game’s Ultimate, and Deluxe editions. It’s also included in the Annual Pass, and can be purchased separately. As previously announced, only one person in the party needs to own the DLC for everyone else to have access to its playable content - though that does not include skins and such. Tunnels of Terror is a big expansion that brings two new Cleaners (characters) to the game, and introduces three new Ridden (special zombies) variants....
