The announcement was delivered by PS5 lead systems architect Mark Cerny and featured a breakdown of the upcoming console’s hardware capabilities. However, on top of all the discussion about teraflops, Cerny also discussed backwards compatibility. According to Cerny, the top 100 PS4 games, “as ranked by playtime,” are set to be playable on PS5 systems at launch. Well, most of them, anyway. As it stands, “almost” all of these titles are already geared up to run on the PS5....

PUBG Corp. will instead host a digital PUBG Continental Series in lieu of the PUBG Global Series. PCS events will be held in May, June, and August with a total prize pool of $2.4 million across four regions: Asia, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America. The first tournament, the PUBG Continental Series Charity Showdown, will take place in May. Prize money for each region is $100,000 and an additional $100,000 will be donated to a charity of the winner’s choice....

You’ll have to hurry though. As is the way with these limited time events, you’ll only have a short window of opportunity to score these new threads before they’re vaulted forever. April 19 marks the final date for this crossover, at which point all the space ninjas will fly away into the void. There’s going to be a little bit more to this shindig than a few missions to complete, although we’re not quite sure what form that’ll take at this time....

Though Capcom didn’t offer a per-platform breakdown, or really any extra details beyond, this already makes Resident Evil 7 the publisher’s second-best selling game ever, behind Monster Hunter World (17.3 million). And, according to Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad, this also makes Resident Evil 7 the first game in the series to set that record without relying on remakes/re-releases. So far, it looks like Resident Evil Village - the latest release in the series - is keeping pace with Resident Evil 7, and may even end up surpassing it....

Capcom has today unveiled a tonne of new Resident Evil Village details, as promised. Not only did the livestream brings us plenty of new gameplay footage, it also came with lots of news. One of the biggest reveals was that Village will not just be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S as initially announced. The game is also coming to PS4, and Xbox One. As disappointing as the news might be to some, Capcom actually hinted that this may end up being the case when it said before that it’s “looking into” bringing the game to last-gen consoles....

Tonight’s PS5 event had a couple of horror game reveals, and Resident Evil Village was undoubtedly amongst the most anticipated. The debut trailer gave us our first ever look at gameplay, and confirmed that the game will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X next year. As many of the recent leaks revealed, Resident Evil Village takes a few cues from Resident Evil 4 and 7. The game brings back 7’s first-person perspective, and takes place in a remote European Village like 4....

From the attic, you can either take on the rooftop first, or let yourself be distracted by the prospect of shiny things lying in wait. If you’ve been keeping up with Resident Evil Village news and gameplay reveals, or if you managed to play the demo yourself, you’ll no doubt have noticed that the game leans a little more towards action compared to its predecessor. Village is, of course, a continuation of the story of Resident Evil 7, and an expansion to the first-person gameplay mechanics that game introduced. Dan Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar and a key creative behind many of the studio’s most successful games, including GTA and Red Dead Redemption, left the studio early last year. Now, the veteran designer looks to be back in games. As spotted by GTA Forums (via VGC), Houser registered a new company in the UK called Absurd Ventures in Games. The Companies House listing describes the company’s business as providing “ready-made interactive leisure and entertainment software development....

The video gives you a taste of the Saints’ formation, rivals, and rise to power. It also features all sorts of explosions. Set in Santo Ileso, a brand new location located in the American Southwest, the reboot stars a group of friends who embark on a criminal venture in a bid to become Self Made. In the game, you take on a bunch of side hustles and take on criminal ventures and missions as you shoot, drive, and “wingsuit your way to the top....

Those who want to give Scarlet Nexus a try before they buy can download the demo from today on Xbox systems. This demo version will also release on PS4 and PS5 next week on Friday, May 28. In the demo, you can take the control of either Yuito or Kasane until the first boss encounter. Yuito fights with close-ranged attacks using sword and can borrow Pyrokinesis, Teleportation, Clairvoyance, and Sclerokinesis powers from his team members....

Secret Neighbor will be released for PS4 and iOS on April 29. The Switch version is coming this summer (thanks, Gematsu). The multiplayer social horror game is set in the Hello Neighbor universe and finds a group of kids try to sneak into their creepy Neighbor’s house. Taking place between Act 1 and 2 of the original Hello Neighbor game, six players sneak into the house, trying to get into the locked basement door—only to realize one of them is the Neighbor in disguise....

Serious Sam 4, a prequel to the series, will be released in August on Stadia and Steam, Croteam and Devolver Digital announced today. Once the exclusivity period is up with Stadia, it will be released for PS4 and Xbox One sometime in 2021, a representative told Kotaku.
