The changes arrived today in the big mid-season update on all platforms. The feature has been missing from Black Ops Cold War since launch (it was present in past Call of Duty games), because the developer thought it would help balance snipers in the multiplayer shooter. Many players, however, felt the removal of flinch made snipers rifles overpowered – a sniper could take a couple of hits and still land a one-shot kill on an attacker thanks to Black Ops Cold War’s longer TTK....

However, in the latest update to support today’s Season 3 launch, a new element has been added into the mix. It seems that, under certain circumstances, dying in Warzone now allows you to become a playable zombie. Ricochet anti-cheat tackles cheaters from four different angles: increasing the security of the games themselves through server enhancements, implementing the kernel-level driver to check software and applications trying to access and change Warzone, protecting privacy by ensuring that the driver is only on when the game is, and improving player reporting systems. It should be noted that Ricochet anti-cheat will only be implemented on PC, though console players will also get some benefits thanks to cross-play....

The texture pack is available to download on consoles and PC now, and as per the developer, it’s aimed at making the game playable in 1440p – that’s why you won’t find it on Xbox One or the base PS4 (thanks VGC). Those consoles only output up to 1080p. The texture pack weighs in at roughly 7GB on consoles, and marks the fifth texture pack released for Warzone since the game launched back in March 2020....

In late January, Blizzard cancelled five Overwatch League homestand matches in China over concerns about the coronavirus outbreak. The matches were set to take place this month and in March. Now, Blizzard has revealed that it’s moving those matches to South Korea. The makeup matches will be played in weeks six and seven at at studio in Seoul, tough some might be added to the week five schedule. “The makeup matches will not affect the other scheduled homestands in Washington (Week 5), Florida (Week 6), and Atlanta (Week 7),” Blizzard said....

According to publishing sources speaking anonymously with VGC, Konami is working to bring the franchises back after a few years of languishing on the back burner. The first one coming out of the gate is said to be a Castlevania game. Currently in development internally at Konami, it is a reimagining of the series and will receive support from local external studios. The last new entry in the Castlevania series was 2014’s Lord of Shadows 2 which starred Gabriel Belmont, now known as Dracula....

Catherine: Full Body is a remastered version of 2011’s Catherine, and it’s coming to Switch on July 7. The game, like the PS4 version, includes improved visuals and gameplay, new music, and enhanced multiplayer options. If you played the original, you will find new, branching story paths this time out centering around the arrival of “the mysterious amnesiac, Rin.” Dozens of new cutscenes and animated cinematics have also been added....

The film was originally slated to arrive in theaters December 21. While a reason for the delay wasn’t provided, co-producer and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto provided his “deepest apologies” for the delay, but promised the film will be “well worth the wait.” The film will now see a theatrical release on April 17, 2023 in North America and on April 28, 2023 in Japan. In development with Illumination Entertainment, the animated film was announced back in 2018 after it had been rumored for a while....

Film director Christopher Nolan has revealed that he would definitely be interested in seeing one of his works adapted into a video game, but the renowned director said it won’t be a straight tie-in. Speaking to Geoff Keighley in a wide-ranging interview promoting the home video release of Tenet, Nolan explained that he has a lot of respect for the medium of video games and the work that goes into creating a game compared to a movie....

Coca-Cola, Kellogg, and State Farm have said that they’re pulling back from partnerships with Blizzard’s esports tournament, the Overwatch League, following the State of California’s lawsuit against Activision Blizzard over discrimination and sexual harassment at its studios. The Washington Post reports that the three brands are now re-evaluating their sponsorships. State Farm, an insurance company, has been an Overwatch League sponsor since 2019. The company told WaPo it has requested that “no advertisements run during the matches this weekend....

Going live on January 25, players will be able to play a series of returning limited time modes, as well as earn some exclusive Cochise and Neon Night themed cosmetics until February 1. The Neon Nights even will launch with a series of event challenges, which when completed will reward players with Cochise items. Paradox is rolling out a subscription service for grand strategy title Crusader Kings 2. The Swedish games firm announced the move in a post on its forums, saying that users could subscribe for $4.99/£3.99 a month for full access to every bit of Crusader Kings 2 content. Since its launch back in 2012, Paradox has released in the region of $300 worth of extra content for the strategy game, with this subscription service apparently being a way to make it affordable to newer players....

“Cuphead and his pal Mugman are coming to @FallGuysGame” reads a tweet from the official Studio MDHR account (that’s the developer behind Cuphead). As per the tweet, Cuphead will arrive on February 24 alongside a special emote that has yet to be shared, and perpetual player two, Mugman, will arrive to keep him company from February 27. “Get ready for a swell battle in the Blunderdome!” concludes the tweet....

The Delicious Last Course downloadable content - which sees Cuphead and his erstwhile friend Mugman joined by a new character, Ms. Chalice – take on a whole new island, brimming with dastardly cartoon threats. The DLC was first announced way back in June 2018, with a tentative 2019 release date attached. But, wanting to achieve “the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for” without resorting to crunch, Studio MDHR delayed the game into 2020....

An early alpha version of custom servers for Sea of Thieves will roll out to Insiders, Rare has announced. According to the developer, the team will be working with creators and community groups to test custom servers in a live environment. It will also be gathering feedback and prioritize “future development priorities in this area.” The hope is custom servers will allow groups to run community events. Many players already host events in the game such as races, fashion shows, and fishing competitions as well as new games like SkullBall, The Pirate Games, and more....
