Bethesda has released a new trailer for Doom Eternal today after first showing it off during a livestream. The new action-packed trailer gives us a look at new enemies like the Marauder and the Gladiator, new glory kills, the Crucible weapon and more. It releases for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 20. A Nintendo Switch port will also become available later in the year. Set to debut in December, the series tells a new story set in Tevinter and features an ensemble of new characters inspired by Dragon Age lore. This includes elves, mages, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, demons, and other special surprises. Addition details on the show are to be announced at a later date. Created in collaboration with BioWare, the series is executive produced by Mairghread Scott (Guardians of the Galaxy TV Series, Transformers Prime) who also serves as head writer and showrunner....

Whatever the canon, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot introduces RPG elements, as well as open exploration areas, to Aikra Toroyama’s classic story. This means there are a few currencies to keep track of throughout the game: D Medals, Zeni, and Z Orbs. Where to get D Medals in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot D Medals are used by your characters in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot to learn new Super Attacks. This is done at Training Grounds, which are marked by flexing biceps on the map....

At its best, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a beautifully realised romp through just about everything the original show has to offer. Though it’s let down by pedestrian open areas, simplistic, grindy combat, and an overly egalitarian approach to storytelling. Legendary Super Saiyan Anyone with any affection for the classic Dragon Ball Z series will struggle not to love the look of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. While the terrain textures in the wider world can feel a bit flat in comparison, the design and modelling of the entire cast captures the spirit of the source material really well - surviving the switch to 3D much better than some of Goku’s recent outings (cough Jump Force cough)....

Announced last year, a trailer for the Dragon’s Dogma anime was posted by Netflix today. The show is being developed in partnership with Japanese production company Sublimation, and is based on the action-RPG. The story follows a man’s journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart. On his way, the man is brought back to life as an Arisen. Expect an action-adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans....

EA announced yesterday that Beede’s appointment in the senior role “signals a strategic, long-term commitment to the growth of the franchise” (thanks, IGN). Beede has some strong experience working in similarly big games: Call of Duty and Destiny headline his CV, and it stands to reason that his experience launching the series’ live-service models will be called upon in this new role. Beede will report directly to Respawn founder Vince Zampella, who has himself expanded his role within EA, including heading up DICE LA....

Unsurprisingly, it won’t be a physical event. This year’s EA Play Live will stream online on June 11 from 4pm PST, and Electronic Arts is promising there will be “world premieres, news and more”. Electronic Arts first announced EA Play in 2016 as an E3 alternative held in the days running up to the annual event. So far, the company has yet to unveil what can be expected at this year’s EA Play Live beyond its “world premieres” tease but you can expect to hear more the closer we get to the date....

In the new single-player mode, FUT Moments, players complete short chunks of games with specific conditions to earn a new currency, FUT Stars, which can be spent in a new shop that stocks exclusive rewards. On the FUT chemistry front, players will now receive chemistry from compatible players across the pitch, not just from the teammates immediately next to them. The example given by EA is Liverpool’s full-back duo, Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold....

The news comes from an official blog post published by Sky, which covers everything Premier League fans can expect when football comes back on June 17 with an Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Man City vs Arsenal “double-header.” However, there’s something strikingly different about this new way of watching football - there’s no live audience. According to market analyst Superdata, Fall Guys has been a massive money-maker for publisher Devolver Digital and developer Mediatonic. The game amassed $185 million at launch on PC, making it the most profitable digital PC launch since Overwatch’s debut in 2016. This is all despite being free, as part of PlayStation Plus, on PS4 over the same period. Superdata estimates 8.2 million copies were sold at launch, which is in line with Devolver’s own figures....

In July, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to get their hands on Fallout 76, Soulcalibur 6, and more. On July 1, Out of the Park Baseball 21 will arrive on the service for PC. Microsoft will add three new titles to Xbox Game Pass this month, starting with Final Fantasy 15 and Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Both Final Fantasy 15 and Wolfenstein: Youngblood will arrive on the service February 6 for both console and PC. The following week on February 13 will see the release of co-op puzzler Death Squared which is playable with up to four others. Each player needs to guide a robot to a color-coded goal, but the path contains deadly traps and hazards....

According to an interview with Animation Magazine, Bruno Danzel d’Aumont, VP of international licensing and marketing at Paris-based animation studio Cyber Group Studios, the animated take on Final Fantasy 9 will be shown off alongside a handful of other projects. It doesn’t sound like anything will be revealed to the public, as it’s specifically being shown at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas this week. “It will be a great opportunity to share our upcoming plans with our licensees, agents, and new partners,” said Danzel d’Aumont....
